Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() The dates for EXAMM 2011 are finalized. They are 16-17 July 2011 (sat-sun). What's new / better this time around: - bigger 'O' team and more marshals - tougher obstacles - ascents, descents, rock crawling, slush, water, ruts - certain obstacles requiring team work - staggered starts to prevent piling up of cars at obstacles - hotel accommodation (choices of hotels according to budget). - also choice for people to camp outside in tents - mechanic facilities - servicing facilities - medical facilities - better food - campfire - technical discussions? (if time permits and people want it) - enough rest time - central location for stay. no traveling between venues - spectacular locations and breathtaking views - bigger press coverage and sponsors What else do YOU want? Last edited by Tejas@perioimpl : 15th March 2011 at 11:24. Reason: added info about more marshals |

| ![]() Thanks Tejas for posting the confirmation and the dates as well. Vehicle preparation is key for clearing this year's exam. Last year was a test-bed to find out what works and what doesn't. This year the gloves are off. We recommend Transfer Case guards, Snorkel and waterproofing the electricals. Escape routes will be available for those who are not attempting the obstacles. |

Only 4x4 with low-range transfer case and high GC will be suitable for this trail. Endy will not be able to traverse the terrain we are leveraging for EXAMM'11

| ![]() Guys, I think Goa is a Great option.. We can also look at Dandeli forest close by.. We will surely get some terrain in the buffer zone plus its by the river belt and some great forest houses & resorts to stay. We will have to just try and sort it with the Forest Officer there.. Does someone have a Link?? |

| ![]() Tejas, i will suggest lets keep the dates tentative! With the current weather scenario where all seasons are getting extended, the rains mite start late too.. so banking on the 1st/2nd week on july wont be a great idea. I would also suggest that this time we segregate the vehicles based on their capabilities/mods, so we can do both extreme trails and sober trail accordingly! Everyone gets a turn, and no one sits around waiting for a non performing jeep to give way! I will also agree to being close to home town, as this will ease work and efficiency of the organizers! |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Venue will be put up shortly. It will most likely be lonavla but different trails than last time. People loved the scenic beauty of the Western ghats in 2010. That is one thing that will be constant! ![]() @Godfather, endy will not be able to make it out in one piece. Guys, there will be a proper official release of the event tomorrow. EDIT: amol: the TPC will be in august 15th. so we can't go later than that. last year examm was in june and we got rains. if it doesn't rain by third week of july, there'll be serious trouble for the economy as well! :P Dates will not change. The official release will have all details. Last edited by Tejas@perioimpl : 15th March 2011 at 12:40. Reason: see edit |

Besides, an Endy is very wide and the body damage might be disheartening. get a CJ or a 550 or a Gypsy. Sasta and most tikau on these terrains. And guys no mention even of treading in forest lands, its a strict no no! EXOs are also nature conservationists. Having said that, im in, when do we Recce?!! I was also a passenger last time, there were lots of them. Passengers are usually allowed in big events. Just reserve a spot in somebody's offroad vehicle. Last edited by Samurai : 15th March 2011 at 15:17.
