Asking the same question that I had asked Tejas, Allan et al. Can I accompany you on one of the OTR's since I do not have a vehicle of my own but would love to be there in whatever capacity possible.

Options

1) take a lift from one of us ( Pune to Pune )

2) drive to the OTR spot,park & then hop-in a vehicle or Walk ( thats the best thing to watch how people drive , I did it & do ) with us as the pace is very slow .

Also , if you do this for a while you will understand the concept & you can decide if it suits you .

If you can bring camera & shoot , you are most welcome with me

For so many days I had that area in mind , wanted to explore but couldn't by one or another reason .

Yesterday we did it , ( actually a part is completed ) , want to do some more recee in that area . will post pics shortly ( as they need to be re-sized )

But before that ----

As I was a trekker once ( not now ) I have travelled in some remote corners of rural western part of Maharashtra , I have few details of areas where good off roading can be done .These are least known to the current offroaders ( Mumbai -Pune ) groups . We can survey & do some reconnaissance work .

Here in Pune many want to join & enjoy the fun , I am trying to sort out a plan for this .This needs to be a well organised & well-knit & properly 'behaved ' effort .

we can make an informal group , Unnamed . I will study the areas where I trekked in past & sort out routes .This group will be small on field ( Limited Numbers ) Max of 6 Jeeps & 15 people
People will have to listen to the instructions of the experienced ones ( Not Me )

We will have some strict rules ( agreed by everyone ) , some sort of code of conduct . ( Find it at BHP only its a good one, Author Tejas Kothari )

An Important point I want to elaborate here , when we will visit any place we will not behave in any way which will cause trouble to locals , its their backyard there & we will behave .

Trying to sort things on this line , hope aspirants will be able to join & enjoy. I have high hopes & will need sincere & like minded people to share .

First Q =No , Second Q = yes

It was risky & not recommended . It was done with utmost caution & precision & was observed on foot before doing it . All credit to Kunal's skills .( I didn't do it )


there was no way at that particular point to do it straight , he had to take a sideways approach . Only two out of 6 vehicles did it , others took alternative route

This one turns out to be a 'Daddy' of all swimmers , he got in, refused to come out . We had to pull him out . After coming out of water he checks everything , starts the engine like nothing happened & zooms away









& This one was a digger, made the pit deeper for others to have more & they all did ( actually came back for that ) .








Prince Harry ? Shhh- dont tell anyone he joined the OTR
