LOL... I did not even start my engine, you came, attached the tow cable to my jeeps rear (and over your bumper) and you went forward and your bumper came back to place (nearly). You want to see the pics of your bumper? Give Dr.Madhu a few days, camera went to another part of bangy...

Sir, IMO the topples seemed driver error - The trail was good and tactical.

Careful placement of ones wheels over the boulders ensured safe, non bumpy ride across the terrain. One needs thorough understanding of ones vehicle for this type of terrain!

The terrain is class and I envy the Bangy JT guys for the same.

BTW, thanks guys, you did a good job and we had a great time.

It was great meeting some TBHP handles to whom i can now attach the face! Thanks Wolf, Gypsy-boy, Kittigadu, Svsanthosh who i met for the first time.

Yes please.
It was rubbing against the tyres. It was even more bent before you clicked the pictures. We stopped midway before the decent to lunch point and manually pulled it, so as to not damage the tyres.

Before this turns out to be another Thar bashing thread, let me quickly congratulate the Organizing team for a top notch event.

Well done Vinay, Dwarak mamu, M.P.Sreenivasan, Suresh Sir, Khan Saab, Jaggu, Viji, Robi, Star, Prithvi, Siddhu, Sreeraj, Rajesh (and everyone behind this event). It was nice meeting all of you again. Bangy boys rock!

Re: Bangalore Aavalakonda Annual OTR 2011 | Participants Report

That looks like an excellent meet. I wanted to come in there with my Endeavour but was warned by fellow Bhpiians that the terrain is called the Jeep breaker, and I will end up with massive scratches and dents.

Any plans of offroading in the future where the wide-bodied SUV's can also participate?

Nearly, if Vinod given more gas !!

Spikey, remember driving into the 1-foot tree stump just as you guys were leaving the hill climb... Hope nothing happened to the lower arm (or whatever it is called)

M&M, please bring a official photographer/video man and use these occasions to promote the thar. Nice to know it did the trail and more, but many missed it (will continue to do so) since these trails are large.

Edit - Pleasure to meet you too Headers. Hope to see you later this year

True, I didn't get to see Thar in action even for a second. First day I was in the rear. Next day I was in the very front.

, Its becoming really boring these days to read only about the THAR everywhere.

I hardly have any pictures. These are my last set. Will try and get some from my mech who was clicking away.

Is Lamda developing a hydraulic winch? Did you take a good look at it? What powerpack (or power steering pump?). Hose routings. Most importantly, how were the valves controlled?

Hi Prateesh, welcome to the Jeepers hall of (in)fame. Been there, done that! In my case, vehicle damage (which was not minor) was the least of my troubles. Passenger got injured.

The lambda vehicle, a mahindra pickup performed very pathetically . The winch also failed to pull it out in the last obstacle , finally the driver shifted to 1st low and got out .
In the meanwhile , trying to get the vehicle out , the driver managed to hit the front shaft making the vehicle loose 4wd.

Excellent OTR. Period.

Everything except lunch was brilliant. Kudos to Mr. MP Sreenivasan, Dwarak sir and the whole hospitality team. I couldnt've asked for anything more.

Lotzz of learning this time from best in business, namely UBS sir, MP Sreenivasan sir, Arka the Boss , Suresh Stephen sir and a couple of more folks unfortunately whose names I dont seem to have taken note of, big sorry to you folks really!!!

Least said, the Recce team sure has done a brilliant job at ofcos the reconnaissance and marshalling/spotting.

Last but not the least, you chennai folks especially Vijay and Vikram, man you guys are absolutely fun to be with. Would live to drive down to Chennai sometime to experience the Keelambakam sometime soon
