Re: Bangalore Aavalakonda Annual OTR 2011 | Participants Report

Dear Friends,
Thanks for sharing the report and photos!
@Organizers and Marshalls, congratulations!

Whose green Gypsy is it that is seen in this video posted by Sunil
Is this Gypsy running on Old Man Emu suspension?

@Prithvi: Is that your Gypsy with that neat rear bumper with a spare wheel mount? Really neat job Prithvi. Could you please help me with where you've got this done? I plan to have one too.

Cheers,
Deepak

I know that gypsy has ARB lockers all around, suspension i think only has damper and CFL upgrade. Someone please confirm.

That would be Mohan, he was with us at Kakkabe event back in 2009.

He bought a brand new Gypsy. He has installed Old Man Emu suspension. Has ARB Air lockers in the front and back diff, with controls switches in the dash. The Warn winch is well hidden inside the ARB bumpers, solenoid under the hood. It also has Safari snorkel. I guess he has got 4L worth of mods. Above all that, he had his installer, Narayan of Ozone (4X4 | Home) as passenger in the OTR. Also had warn driving lights.

Few from me yet
It was a great OTR n great fun with very different challenges than the earlier ones...COUGAR performed well except on 1 climb ( topple point ) where it had to be winched out...

I was a bit sceptical on the climb down on the steep rock face ( after my experience on the pearl valley otr ; almost a year back where I had a free roll down for a while )... although this one being more challanging I have overcome and can face any climb downs ...

Thanks to all Marshals , Dwarak , and the entire team...

If any member is having more pics of the Cougar pls post.

Thanks Jaggu. Did not know about the tyre mount. Will bug him over the weekend. The workshop guys are warning me of my rear door hinges and hence want to reduce the weight on it. Thanks a ton!

Thanks a lot for the info Sharath! I just wanted to get some feedback on OME. It is good to know that there is somebody running on them. Is he on TBHP?

Thanks once again.
Cheers,
Deepak

No Dwaraka Sir, this Jeep is indeed Giri's.
Notice the bigger (woriginal) mirrors, the missing explorer sticker on the windshield, the date on the picture and the cowboy hat
Cheers,
Deepak

Yes you guys are right. My bad. I had overlooked it but just loved the way it was peeking out and could not resist a shot.

Nope, it wasn't mine. Arka is right that Jeep was Giri Thirumale's Classic. I had never put softtop on my Classic during the OTR and the side view mirrors are clear indicators of Giri's Classic.
