Great rides, all. Good you are using them as they are meant to be. The blue/silver Defender just blew me away. Is the Toyota a LandCruiser-II?

Couple of questions:
The RangeRovers are said to be troublesome, especially electricals. How would you rate a mid 90's 4.6, which can be had quite cheap these days, for day-to-day use including regular medium level off-roading?

What is the on-road comfort levels of the Defender? People might have to travel fair distances on the road to reach their 4WD paradise of choice.

redone ..yes the landrovers are realy troublesome..thats the reason u can get some of them that cheap.....you have to spend a small fortune only to maintain them.....they have all sorts of problems but mainly have problems regarding their fuel filter and other electricals....also the petrol v8 engine drinks fuel like a hummer......
regarding drivebality.....the range rover is extremely comfortable for long drives and does not feel like an suv.....the petrol engine is really really fast..........the defender on the other hand has a bit of a hard ride but its comfy none the less.....
these cars are not suitable for daily driving according to me...too expensive for that.......they were built for offroading and thats what they do best........i rate these set of cars second only after the h1 and followed by the 002 and then the mighty old willy

Just went through your thread. awesome man. I hope ur ladakh trip is cool. I have myself purchased a gypsy as i resrach in medicinal plants often visit the sahyadris and other dense forestss. ur recomendation of the gypsy has really increased my faith in the car. I would like to ask u if moding the leaf spring is of any use for comfort of back people or i should keep it as it is.
Secondaly i would like to know if u drove all these 6 vegicles all thje way to delhi or were they transpiorted for the cause.
Anyway. Its great to know and share ur experience.
Keep the good work and would love to see soe pics of Ladakh. Probably visiting there myself

hey that silver blue land rover has got a dehradun registration any chance to see these vehicles around dehradun.

yup most of the pics are a jim corbette..
sorry to disapoint u but all the cars are only either in mumbai or in delhi...

n yes the gypsy one hell of a car...but dont change to coil...i have tried it out n the ride becomes too bumpy................

Hey guys...thanks again..
well the leh trip was cancelled because of a wedding in the family..
but there should be a massive trip coming up in december..maybe 15 cars all in all..
the forester was a dream to drive...and really showed no signs of lagging behind the other TRUE monsters...
the 6*6 is the only one in the country......
among only a few in the world
