Hi Guys,
Had been to Bidaraguppe lake and water wading at Dhakshina Thirupathi post Hosur on 27th Sunday 2011
Me & My Bro Shiv were the first to reach Total Mall on Sarjapur road @ 7:10
am, we were later joined by Bhaskar in his Trooper, Later came in Vinod
with his son, and couple of friends & their son too (sorry guys very poor
with names) we also had Andy or Anand come in his MM 540.
Fred was running later trying to pick his friends from ORR & KR Puram.
Dr Salman had a rough night & just wok up
so Bhaskar suggested we wait for
other at the Breakfast point & we started off, the force support vehicles a
Toofan LWB and a Judo both 4x2 were at the Total mall in madivala now,
informed Fred, Force Motors Prashand & Salman to meet us at breakfast point
just after Varture junction & we heading to the breakfast point.
While we had Delicious Idli Vada Sambar & som coffe, the force guys & Fred
Joined us, while Salman had just started from Frazer town, we had
breakfast & packed one for Salman & left for the first spot, Bedriguppe
lake. were worried as it had rained the last couple of days.
To our surprise we find the lake bed in great shape, no water, so we start
our crawl, at first all of us did the entire stretch from entry on south to
exit on the North, it was about 150 mtrs long and all kinds of articulating
turns en-route. some of us had a second go at it, later call from Salman, I
went to the road & picked him to the spot.
Now it was about 10:30 am & the real fun started, people were venturing
across the channel from various angles, one better then the previous one,
more steeper than the other !!
Bhaskar was leading with so many new paths and tracks, he makes it look so
effortless and trivial. The trooper performs like a Navy Seal, fits him
like a glove, he is sensible & know what to do and what not to, was a
pleasure meeting him.
Salman was having his own part of fun, venturing in to newer steeper angles
and climbs, was surprised to see the Gurkha perform with Sand Grips so
well!!, we was seldom using the diffs too.
Anand was doing the paths and trails over and again, just crawling and
make it look so easy too, I was impressed at what all a MM540 can do.
Fred with his LWB Judo 4x4 was having a ball of a time, it surely needs a
set of better tires and wee bit more juice to make things easy, He would
provably have registered to a Gym to build his arms after the current stat
of affairs in handling the Judo with out PS through all the narrow and
demanding sections
Vinod was having fun, or should I say the two kids had better of it !
he tried many obstetrical and drove fantastic for a first-timer. kudos to you Vinod.
Me & Bhaskar tried some wearied paths it was fun.
Later we left for Lunch at Hosur, sumptuous planten leaf TN meals then
joined by SV Santosh & his friend (sorry forgot name again), the force
guys left the toofan at the KA border and we all got to the water crossing
point, disappointment struck to see the puny low water leves in summer!!
All is not lost, we had some first timers so it was probably right, so we
had FUN, real FUN. all of us tried the spots and crossed it several times,
then I wanted to try the deep sinking part from last time, we had noting to
worry as we have 2 other Gurkha's to pull me out if stuck and Trooper has a
winch too, so I go in with the toe rope attached to my rear & Salman backs
up with the toe attached to his read, great sync Dr Salman Khan thanks for
all the support, I have SV Santosh at the shore & Bhaskar with me for
Navigation, we try a couple of deep spots, deep enough to get the water in
from the windows above the door, complete vehicle bonnet under water & the
vehicle actually floating, its not sinking !!! we did this like 3 times on
each spot, there are 2 such spots deep about 8 to 10 feet, that what the
locals say!! its not measured, but we made the TANK Float.
Later I don't know what got in to me, I changed from 4L to 4H as I was in 4L
for almost 30 mins, but the shifter got jammed in neutral as I was shifting in
so stranded on the other side of water crossing, no Issues, Salman to
rescue, & toed be to the start side where Force Mech Alla Bakash go to work
and fixed or released the Jam in no time, Thanks a tone guys, it was rather useful to have the Force support team on board. (Dam I didn't see how) we all said
bye & headed back to Bangalore ..
The first time I did this river crossing I was Awestruck, this time we did
more although the flow was low, Thanks Again to
SV Santosh for introducing
us to such a wonderful spot.
