"Long Way Down" : 4x4 TV Series on the Fox History channel

Have any of you been watching the TV series "Long Way Down" on the Fox History channel? It is really amazing and would encourage 4*4 addicts. Though the focus of the series is on the journey of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman on their BMW R1200GS, the accompanying crew travel on 4*4 vehicles. The last day I watched those 4*4s (Nissan) trying to cross a river. One of them getting stuck and another trying to use a winch to get out of the mud was really worth watching. The spirit they showed and the team work they displayed was inspirational. Watch the program if you guys get the time. The route is very long but the crossing through Africa is the best. Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya you name it, it is there. Dirt roads, Mud roads, sand roads, no roads too. It was nice to see a Hollywood movie star getting out of his comfort zone and trying his hand on such a difficult task. Can never imagine one of our Indian stars doing such stuff sans the make up, AC van etc.

This is a very old TV series. Great fun but you HAVE to watch their better effort in "Long Way Round". LWD is just boring with too much complaining. LWR is the bee's knees!

used to watch this show quite a while back. used to love it at time time.

As gsferrari as already stated, it all started with the Long Way Round. After a successful trip and good TRP's they decided to do the 2nd version which was ok but not as good as the first.
