Suggested Offroading / Recce at Yeoor Hills - Thane

Hi All,

Here are some pics pulled up from a previous thread.

The Heritage Vehicle owners club of Thane had conducted a small offroading session at Yeoor Hills. Team-BHPians egangsta and abhilashn were a part of this event.

Can we do a recce of this place ?? This being in Thane would be easier for all of us. I have PM'ed egangsta about this thread, would like him to join us with his suggestions. Any members from Thane in here ?? Please help us with this.

Great, so now there are 2 JEEPs, we would need at least one more jeep preferably with a Winch. Anyone else from thane or nearby places game for this ??

Edward, since you have been to this place before, tell us something more about it, I mean hows the terrain, is there any permission required from some authority to enter yeoor hills ? Please post some more photographs if you have.

@Digamber, which JEEP do you have ?

Abhilash will be able to tell us more on this. Waiting for his reply.

Allan,

The date is not finalized yet. Edward is in talks with Abhilashn to check his availability as well. Once we have sufficient members, we can finalize the day and hit the track.

I was there the last time and did see Abhilash's Jonga and the limited edition Mahindra. ( dont recall which one was that) in action.

it was so much fun.

Trust me guys the yeoor hills is fabulous territory to enjoy offroading.

Where are the other mumbai offroaders.
GTO,aditya are you listening. ??

Though the true fun lies entering the forests in rains or should i say torrential downpour.

Eddy - keep me posted and what was that other limited edition mahindra which abhilash owns?

I'm in! Wanna hit Yeoor hills this sunday? I hope it's got some difficult terrain and is worth it. Let's stick to the standard departure @ 0600 hours.

Guys, Strictly 1 + 1 in each offroader please. If anyone is familiar with Yeoor, do chart out a difficult (the more the difficulty, the better ) track.

GTO, I spoke to Abhilash and Digamber and it turns out that we may have some problems with the forest dept. Digamber had spoken to a forest officer and that chap had said that you cant take your jeeps. We could go on our own but the only issue is if we ran into them there would be un-necessary trouble for all of us. Thats why we are looking at other options. Will update soon.

I too have heard of forest dept restrictions in Yeoor hills.
Maybe a Karjat recce as suggested elsewhere or lonavala?

Damn, that sucks Egangsta. Though we'd rather not get into trouble and go against the law.

Please update with any other locations where we could meet.
