No build as such. All are working vehicles. Sold off the Gypsy a couple of months back, so reclaiming the 340 for my personal use. (The about to be dispossessed person is very happy because he is going to get my Bolero! SLX 4x4).

Hi Sutripta,

Why don't you pick up an ex-MM550XD XD3P-2A, from Panagarh, and rebuild the engine.

Total cost (Engine + Rebuild) will be 70K approx.

Agree with Arka. UBS Saheb definately have something interesting. I think i have contact number of one Sardaji in Panagarh who deals in Ex-Army spares/engines. Let me know if it is required.

Spike,
Yes, XD3P is raw power on a 340, though I have yet to take mine on a off roading track in the coming days. But make sure you have the right gear to leash it (disc brakes). It is an ultimate off roader with MM550, 51" front and rear diffs. (rear LSD) and Army KMT 90.

Yours and Sir Behram's guidance in getting the drive train, alignment and mounts redone on the new chassis was a blessing. Thank you.

Thanks. Whatever it costs to rebuild, it costs to rebuild. But would like to know how much to offer for the engine.

Nothing in particular, just a quick list of essentials/must do things would be useful as lots of the guys have a xd3 block in their jeeps.

Hi,
AFAIK, you are missing a 340.

The drivetrain needs some serious work. Instead of spending the money on the XDP (and unfortunately mine has the PITA CAV FIP), thought XD3 + VE.

I had told my person the upper limit of 25K. He says that the (scrap) dealer laughed at him!

What serious work ? What is a "PITA CAV FIP" ?

FIP = Fuel Injection Pump
CAV = The FIP made by Lucas
PITA = Pain in the backside.
