Re: PICS : Help with identifying this Mahindra engine

The forerunner sz2600 did not have a turbo, this is my understanding. Not sure it was called sz2600 at that point...sz2600 is derived from an older agricultural engine.

Re: PICS : Help with identifying this Mahindra engine

here is what i came to know about this engine.
MAHINDRA ALLWIN Nissan SD25
2,488 cc (?)
75bhp, 15-16kgm
bore and stroke of 89.0 and 100.0 mm
(?)
thanks to ARKA, spike & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_SD_engine.
initially i was planning to use this in my armada but no mm bellhousing is direct fit so little difficult to use in my armada.

even if i manage to add a kmt90+b warner, the final torque to axles is more than they can handle.
Quote:
Kilograms meters (Kg m) x 9.804 = Newton meters (Nm)

15 kgm x 9.804 = 156.9064 Nm

engine torque x GB ratio x TC ratio x axle ratio / 4 = torque on axles/wheels

so

156 NM x 5.315 x 2.48 x 4.88 / 4 =approx 2500 NM .
16 KGM
x 5.315 x 2.48 x 4.88 / 4 =approx 257 KGM .

Re: PICS : Help with identifying this Mahindra engine

Jeepster, last night i was driving a mad CJ3B which was almost lifting its front wheels . It has the Nissan SD25 engine mentioned here with the KMT90 GB and 4.27 ratio.

I found a new engine which will beat the Isuzu G1, HURRICANE AND THE 307 hands down

OH yes it does a top speed of 130km/hr.

Nikhil the one i drove had a Nissan SD25 naturally aspirated engine. It was written NISSAN on the engine cover . You need to mate it to the KMT90 with an adapter plate.

This engine is going anywhere between 15k to 25 k. Finding one in good condition is tuff. The spares too are rare for this engine.

Re: PICS : Help with identifying this Mahindra engine

This engine looks like a Mahindra NEF (new engine family) non turbo , its a DI engine used extensively on the mahindra loadstar pick up. It is similar to the first engine on the scorpio. The weight was too much and it was reworked on . Parts will be available at mahindra pick up dealers .It should work well it is a good engine

hmm after the initial talks with Arka & raju bhai, i have decided not to use sd25 in armada.

so looks like sd25 will be used for generator for our FARM.

i have a contact in mumbai market so i am planning to buy a MDI CRDe. (mostly in 2012)

will PM you the prices.

& yes
from his FB wall it looks like Mr.Sandeep S is Frankenstein.

dr.jones , i have taken some snaps of the engine bay today.

Please dont listen to that heavy nonsense. Its slightly heavier to the XD3P but much lighter than the Di . Not many gurus here have practical experience with these engine s, hence the limited info.
