Hi Nikhil,

You can ask anything anytime, but the answer will only be revealed to you, when you are ready.

And in your case your, when you are more observant and logical.

Arka

PS - I don't believe in spoon-feeding the answer.

Re: Difference in the track width of the mm 550 ngcs .

in the pic i posted earlier, there is no right offset axle.

but only left offset (as you pointed out) even though at least 1 FC out of 4 was 4x4. (which were scraped)

not even a center diff to be seen in pic .

i still think there must be a right offset axle for 4x4 FC as AFAIK there was no option of BW TC in FC to use center diff axle as my armada has.

or

is it left offset for 4x2 & center diff for 4x4 FC??

Hi Nikhil,

Pre 1995c the FC Van Had left 58" Off-Set for 4x2 and 58" Right Off-Set from 4x4 with 2 piece FFRA

After that till 1998c the FC Vans used the Centre Diff for 4x2 & 4x4 with 1 piece FFRA.

Arka

Hi Nikhil,

So what will happen to a vehicle with a 2" Track Difference?

Are the Planks Just 2" wide?

Please post appropriate pictures to prove your point not speculations.

Arka

Re: Difference in the track width of the mm 550 ngcs .

@Arka, looks like @Jeepster drives on such narrow tolerance tracks 90% of the time, and is hence the difference in front & rear track is causing him frustrating problems.

As for me, the 50mm track difference on my Ikon has not caused any problems when & where I drive.

Hi Sreejesh,

What do you think is the Front & Rear Track of a MM550XD?

48.5"/48.5" or 51"/51" or 57"/53"?

I don't know But I think It is 51"/51". I am planning to change the Gearbox In to a BW so I need to change the rear Diff. So I am learning How to do The conversion and what are the available Diff options for the conversion. I think Mahindra pic-up 2wd/4wd rear Diff (53" right ?) can be used but don't know about whether I can retain the LSD.

Hi Sreejesh,

If you search through the Vehicles & Technical sub-forums, I'm sure most of your queries will be answered.

Re: Difference in the track width of the mm 550 ngcs .

Finally found a solution to the above problem. The mahindra maxi truck's
rear differential is the same length as the front OKBJ 57".I will be installing the
rear diff on Tuesday or Wednesday ,will post the pics then for future references.

Re: Difference in the track width of the mm 550 ngcs .

@sammy:
All Maxi Trucks 2WD/4WD have center differential. With BW T-case it is okay. With T-18 it will not work.
