Dear All,

I have recently moved to Bangalore from Hyderabad and in dire need of a Good Mechanic for my 1990 Isuzu Trooper and Ford GPW.

Isuzu Trooper-I hear a peculiar noise in the front right wheel and it increases with speed.

GPW-Need to change the clutch assembly.

I reside at Benson town.

Please help

Waseem.

Give me a day, i have sent a mail to friend/owner of trooper SWB (1987 I guess) and he had a specialist (professional!! not a road side garage) take special care of it - i will post it here ASAP

Waseem bhai , dont know about your suv, but the gpw , dont give it to anyone, this is not Hyderabad, dont let anyone touch the petrol engine and leaf springs, how ever regular stuff is ok like tightening the bolts , engine oil change etc, people here dont know Jeeps , they will ruin it .

The Jeep culture in Bangalore is much bigger than the City of Hyderabad:D You must visit the 4x4 section here on T-BHP to understand how the jeep community has grown to a mammoth size in the last few years.

Hmm..

You can contact my mechanic (he's been working on my classics since 10 years), he has tremendous knowledge and hands on experience on all kinds of engines. A young No-Nonsense mechanic, works from his house at R.T.Nagar.

You can get in touch with him on 9980873323 - Aanji, you can refer my name.:thumbs up

He can speak, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada and understands English.

You can try South motors in Kachrakhanahalli. Primarily works on Mercs, but have seen Troopers there as well. no personal experience of using them. its at the bend after the venkateswara temple.

GPW-Need to change the clutch assembly.

Ping moderator Jaggu. He can give you some good leads. I believe there is a mech by name Raju, somewhere in Ramamurthy nagar.

I reside at Benson town.

Wowwww Frankie!! Ain't that some serious sweeping and baseless statement?
Does it mean that you have a Ford certified technician working on your GPWs or you leave it at the Ford authorized service center?
C'mon, all of us have to make do with some skilled mechanics or with some FNGs.
@Waseem: You could also get in touch with Sanjay @ 98450 41855. His garage is at Banashankari (South Bangalore)
Cheers,
Deepak

That makes your job easy, the Peugeot engines are easy to work with. Did you get the clutch assembly (original)?

Among all I have heard / seen my vote will go for Jaggu's mechanic who worked on his DwArF, sorry I forgot his name. Seeing the way he works, pretty much demonstrates that he knows his job.

Since you reside on that side of town, you can use Raju. He is reliable, honest and knows his jeeps. I will PM you his number, you can refer my name or even Santhosh's. Actually lot many of us have used/still use him.

Trust me we do have good mech's around, its just the matter of budget.

EDIT: This is for jeep, trooper basic mechanical work he should be able to manage.

Guys,

I need your help again.

It seems that the AC compressor in my Trooper has gone Kaput. This was told by an Auto-Electrician @ Coles road,Frazer town and i do not trust him at all.

Please suggest a good Auto-Electrician who has hands on experience in working with Imported Vehicles.
