Spintires: An Interesting Off-Road Simulator

I haven't really come across a proper off-roading game/simulator before, but this one apparently looks quite intense. It's an indie(independent) project, developed by UK based game developer Oove Studios and was successfully funded through this organization called Kickstarter, which apparently is a big name when it comes to fund raising purposes for independent initiatives looking to soar in the following realms of films, games, and music to art, design, and technology.

Gameplay Concept as described on Kickstarter page:-

Quote:
The wild off-road adventure begins in Russia, circa 1980-90. You are supplied with a soviet truck and a set of primitive tools for navigation. The task is to collect and deliver logs from deep within the wilderness, ready for shipment abroad.

First, you must load the truck with the logs using the supplied claw crane, then using a map and compass you need navigate to your objectives with the logs secure to complete the objective successfully.

Plot a course and navigate using landmarks whilst trying not to loose your precious cargo, becoming stuck in the mud or depleting all of your fuel reserves. Plans accordingly so that you can pass a fuelling out-post and stop by when required.

If you complete the objective successfully, you will be rewarded with ‘skill points’.

‘Skill points’ are rewarded for the following factors:

Successful delivery of Cargoes (more is better)
Cargo Damage (less is better)
Fuel Usage (less is better)

In addition, ‘Bonus skill points’ are rewarded when:

Secret Crates Discovered (more is better)
Territory Covered (more is better)

‘Skill points’ can be used to purchase truck accessories in the workshop that can assist you in completing the next batch of objectives. These accessories include but not limited to the following:

Extra Lighting
Turbo Charger
Engine Air Filter
Extra Cargo Capacity + Trailers
Horns
Winch
Tire Deflation System
New trucks

Looks very promising. Has good potential. Probably may become my second favorite off road games after 4x4 Evo.

Re: Spintires: An Interesting Off-Road Simulator

I think there was a game just like this(minus the offroad part) called Hard Truck2

You would be supplied with a ruzzian truck something like the old Tata trucks and you had to deliver foodstuff in order to earn money whereby you could buy new trucks. You could get order from crashed trailers too and if you completed that task, you would get extra money.

Only thing is that, the video was not as crisp as this. This looks too good

Off Topic:-If any one has a link for that hard truck game (could you guide me to that link)

Re: Spintires: An Interesting Off-Road Simulator

The 2013 demo version is out now.
I have completed 12-15 levels of 2011 version.
It has KAMAZ and KRAZ trucks.
Kamaz offroad is my favorite.
There are multiple mods available on the internet.

Re: Spintires: An Interesting Off-Road Simulator

I recently downloaded this game. The graphics have improved and so have the vehicles (G65 6x6, Jeep Wrangler, Defender, MAZ, UAZ, KMAZ, KRAZ etc.) and the maps (Desert Dakar Rally etc.)

Vehicles are getting added every week and there are ample mods available so I haven't got bored in the last 2 weeks that I've been playing it.

Spin Tyres Off roading game

Hey all!! I just wanted to introduce everyone to a game I recently came across which im sure all off road enthusiasts will drool over, and if youre not an off roading fan, you will be after you play this.. The game is called Spin Tyres and Jalopnik calls it the GranTurismo of offroading games.. and after playing it for the past few days, i cant say i disagree. you can download the trail version from their website, and there are tons of developer videos online. you can try out some legendary off roaders like the unimog and the Maz 8x8 off road truck.. here are some links if you are interested in it!! Cheers and Goodluck!!

Re: Spin Tyres Off roading game

I love this game, the physics and reality; alas my poor old PC without a video card could not render the trial without the screen jerking. There already exist a thread on it.

Re: Spintires: An Interesting Off-Road Simulator

It becomes a little boring after a while due to lack of missions. I've played with almost every vehicle out there but nothing exciting about it anymore. Hopefully they would put in some missions because that's the only thing stopping me from playing this anymore.
