This place is near to my home and office, so I have videos of all sorts of vehicles crossing this footpath or obstacle, don't know what to call it It ranges from Maruti Esteem to Tata Safari, but I have not uploaded all of them on youtube. Will try to locate them on my laptop hard drive and upload them. Here are a few that I had uploaded -

TUV vs Bolero

Bolero vs Thar

Oh, it was you all along, Mr.Pearl? I even shared that TUV vs Bolero video to the TUV official review thread once saying "someone has posted this on YouTube...".

Anyway, during my TUV's 2nd free service, given my complaints - they assigned a mechanic to drive while I rode shotgun. Among other things, what I learnt is that they've silently changed the suspension and transmission in the TUV it seems. The Mahindra mechanic said that there's no more traction problems in models manufactured 2018 onwards. That's why Mahindra don't offer the free MLD anymore for TUVs.

Please, pretty please, if you could validate this claim in that same place with a newer TUV 300, it'll sort out any doubts I and others may have.

I have my own tales to tell, of driving my TUV into and out of a lake bed. I'll try to share that video sometime. And my daily commute ends with me taking my TUV into a steep parking ramp by taking a sharp 90 degree turn after coming to a stop. I haven't been able to re-create the wheelspin issue at all...

I had once seen a Quanto with MLD kit installed. If the Xylo shares same differential housing and components, then its highly possible that you might be able to install the Eaton MLD kit in the Xylo as well.

Re: Eaton MLD (M-Locker) now available off the shelf

I am planning to buy a bolero Neo n10(O) because of the MLD. But I am also inclined towards Scorpio S5 and it would be great if I could fit MLD on it. Can someone confirm if the Eaton M-Locker is still available? I would like to procure it and get it fitted in Pune.

I have also seen a Bolero Neo N10(Not Optional) being fitted with MLD, the part is also available on Boodmo. I couldn't find anything for Scorpio though.

Same preciament. Wonder if the MLD can be fitted to an XUV 700 or Scorpio (since it's a Thar derivative now.)

Re: Eaton MLD (M-Locker) now available off the shelf

Has anyone from this forum tried installing the MLD Lockers from Bolero Neo into Bolero BS6 models? If yes, then what are the complications of installing the kit? What are the demerits while using it on asphalt? Thanks in advance.

Re: Eaton MLD (M-Locker) now available off the shelf

Two queries:-

Is the Eaton MLD compatible with Scorpio N Diesel Z4 4WD ?

Does the Jimny require a MLD retrofitment and if yes, is the Eaton MLD compatible with Jimny ?

Thanks a ton.
Your reply provided the clarity I was looking for.

Any reliable Eaton dealers in Delhi-NCR or Bombay-Pune ?

Re: Eaton MLD (M-Locker) now available off the shelf

MLD is located at the rear axle and is controlled automatically. If the vehicle gets stuck on difficult off-road trails, MLD is activated to mechanically connect both rear wheels, resulting in equal power transmission to each wheel. This makes it an essential tool for off-roading.

During normal driving conditions, the MLocker functions as a light-bias limited-slip differential. When a low-traction situation occurs that causes a wheel speed difference greater than 100 RPM, a flyweight mechanism opens to engage a latching bracket. The stopped flyweight triggers a self-energizing clutch system, forcing a cam plate to ramp against a side gear. Cam plate ramping will continue to increase until both axles turn at the same speed (full lock), which prevents further wheel slip. When the need for improved traction is gone - unlocking occurs automatically and the differential resumes normal operation.

Here is my research on Mahindra vehicles, the entire list of vehicles where individuals can install MLD diff case without any modifications.
