Land Rover Heritage Division: Spares for out of production vehicles Good news coming in for old Land Rover owners and collectors. The British automaker has just announced that it will launch a heritage division at the Techno Classica in Essen, Germany. The special division will offer original spare parts for models that have been out of production for a decade or more.
Land Rover has also announced that with production of the Defender now in its final phase, replacement parts will be available for 15 years, following which owners can avail of the parts from the heritage service.
John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, estimates that 70% of all Land Rovers manufactured since 1948 are still in existence, warranting the creation of this specialized division. Land Rover also plans to conduct "Heritage Drives", giving participants the opportunity to drive models from Land Rover's heritage collection at a special 200-acre testing facility in Warwickshire, UK. |
