I did have 30X9.5 Dunlop GrandTrek A/T initially but then upgraded to the 31X10.5 Bighorns couple of months before the Leh trip.

@Harjeev, had checked with Kandisa about that. Will having stock axles instead of the OKBJ impact whether the tyres foul or not? I believe stock axles are 53" and not 57".

@AVR. Stock axles are 51" and not 53". If you want to go for 31x10.5 you need to get good negative offset alloys or you will loose your turning radius as on full turns the tire will rub your chasis.

Thanks 4x4addict, Have already ordered for Bighorns. Will see how it works out with the regular steel rims and decide accordingly. Somehow just can't take to the looks of most alloys on a Jeep.

About losing turn radius on full turns, I believe there's a way of adjusting/limiting the turn so that it doesnt foul on full turns. Correct? Let me know if I can do that for the time being.

There is a bolt that has to be adjusted to prevent tires from rubbing the chasis. But essentially you will have to move the bolt out to prevent tire rubbing and hence your turning radius will come down.

Whats the cost? Not seen on any Jeep on the forum IIRC. If they are VFM then probably worth exploring. Am assuming you went through this link :
Hankook Dynapro MT RT03 Mud Tire Reviews and check it up against the usual suspects like the Bighorns/Trepadors/Geolandars.

Cheers,
Adi

re: The Offroad Rims & Tyres Thread

Can anyone give me a fair idea as to what kind of mileage (kms not kmpl) we can expect out of
1. AT tyres
2. AT-S tyres
3. MT tyres

I have had HT tyres earlier and the mileage I got out of them on the gypsy was about 70K. Driving 70% city roads, 20% rural, 10% offroad.

Any particular reason for a plus-offset requirement? Almost always, people go in for negative offsets when it comes to the Jeeps.
