But I don't see any issues with not using it on a regular basis as long as oil & lubricants are maintained at appropriate levels (these are topped up if required during the routine services & changed at stipulated intervals)

There is only one catch - the quality of the switch used to switch on the electric 4x4. If that fails, then all hell breaks loose.

But by going by gurujis experience and not having an issue in 10 years of occasional usage, we could assume Tata have not compromised on the quality of switches.
