Infractions: 0/1 (5)

An option would be to order the snorkel head from the Force Motors Gurkha and fabricate everything else.

There is no snorkel available that can be installed in Mahindra Jeeps. I have been thinkin of installing a snorkel that is installed on Eicher trucks.

Wanted advice will that snorkel work.

My thoughts, too. A cheaper solution would be just to put a mandrel bend in the pipe near the tip and point the tip toward the ground so rain can not get in. If river water gets that high the driver and co-driver better be able to hold their breath.

I think if one is going to go into deep water they had better check carefully what else is going to get wet. Here the hose from the filter to the engine intake looks like one of those paper/carboard things that water will destroy in short order.

Hey DD, Great minds think alike eh? I was just contemplating that setup in my 540 especially for the differential breathers.. Also, having a 'U' bend inside helps air pass but restricts water unless one is in very deep waters!

Cheers

Hey better option is what I have done Eicher Air Intake cost (Rs.450) on the B pillar of 540. take the hose through the body behind the footrest. a PVC pipe the entrance of the engine and connect the Air intake hose.

I will put pictures of the same in the next post. I have not clicked them yet. but Harjeev did take some pics in the 25th NIOC OTR of the snorkel and connection.

Lets hope for the best, Seems to be. The joints besides the clamps etc have been fixed with super glue and some amount of water proofing.

My clutch had some problem for the 25th NIOC OTR so had to leave the Jeep on the track. could not test it in water.

Next time will definately do that and post an update.

Hi Headers, Just wanted to knw how to waterproof the Starter Motor, Alternator & Diffrential nipples.

After the snorkel I think these will be the only 2 places that water can damage/stall the vechile in a OTR.

Pls let me knw the other points that needs to be taken care off and suggest the solutions
