Price for a new XD3P fuel Pump

Does anyone know the price for a new XD3P fuel pump (its in a MM550)? Going to send the current one off to a proper workshop next week but would like to know the cost of a new one before agreeing to getting the work done.

No point paying close to the cost of a new one on servicing.

Thanks in advance.

A brand new from the factory Mico fuel pump for the XDP engine costs about 28k. How much is the work-shop asking?

Have you tried checking with a mico pump dealer? Mahindra will send it to the same guy.

Hey Bigman, you should be able to service a pump under 5K. The point is to check the works in a fuel pump testing machine - Thats the killer!

Otherwise, anyone can service the pump!

@Satnam
Why do you want to buy a new pump!!! You can save loads of money just by getting it serviced!! Even if you would have to get it to Delhi it should only add a couple of extra K's on the total buildup price

Xd3p

Hi Bigman,

The brand new XD3PU is de-tuned.

Go for a XD3P-2A Delphi-TVS (Later MM550XD) FIP, service it and fit it on your JEEP.

Regards,

Arka

Thanks guys.

Harjeev I remember when you got yours serviced and if i recall correctly you wondered whether it would have been better to buy a new one. Hence why I wondered it was worth just buying a new one or getting it serviced.

The current one was serviced by a local "fuel pump guru" but still does not work properly. There is a proper service place in Hissar and thats where it should be going next. Should have gone to the proper place in the first place but people kept telling my dad that this local guy was the dogs danglies when it came to fuel pumps.

Also the local mechanic reckons he has 2 excellent condition fuel pumps so might get him to fit one of them and test that for a few weeks. Will retain the current one and if need arises can just drop that off at the service place and give the other one back to the mechanic.

It cost RS2000 to get serviced at the proper TVS place in Hissar with 12 months guarantee.

Hi Lugnut,

I don't know if the FIP's are available brand new.

You can pick one XD3P2A FIP from an MM550XD (used) and get it serviced from an Authorized Service Center.

Cost of FIP -2-5K

Cost of Overhaul - 10-20K

Regards,

Arka

@Lugnut, check Bosch India web-site for their authorised outlets in Mumbai. These outlets can help you both for new FIP's and also if you want to get one serviced /over-hauled.

Even up here in remote Dharamsala they have a pretty good diesel fuel pump rebuilding and testing shop. You shouldn't have to go to much trouble to get this done. The shop up here periodically also offers a schema in which they will test your dog's danglies for free with a pump servicing.
