Thanks for that info, jyobeb ! I guess I got mixed up with the Sumo suspension setup.

Amazing build that you got going clap:....and hope you find a suitable body soon for this project vehicle :thumbs up

What are the tires you have put on and the size. Are these available here in India.

Are you sure? Always thought about the 2wd being coil springs and only the 4wd being torsion bars. Having driven both the torsion setup seemed much more stiffer in a nice way.

Great progress and can't wait for it to be ready.

Does it have to be the jeep wagon? Why not get a 5 door Wrangler look as someone called Abdul Salam had done? Remember?

Adi

@Prithvi. These are 35x12.5x15 maxxis trepadors. Used to be available in India.
@ AVR. Yup. The Safari comes with Torsion bars in 2wd & 4wd.
Talk about timing man! My Wagon reaches me in 6 days.

Do you have the wagon yet? pics?

Hopefully in 4 more days. Pics will follow soon!

You don't have a body, seats, steering, canopy etc etc on your ride and its already the hottest 4x4 I have seen by far.

I salute thee and your perseverance and dedication.

Hooked to this thread, please update.

Wow ! Congrats, jyobeb ! The body seems to be in pretty good shape.

Thanks man! True, for a vehicle not used for the past 8 years and pretty much left in the open, its in very decent shape!

Hi Jyobeb,

I have been following your thread and am summarising/accumulating all my comments and reactions here.

It is great to note that you finally found the fitting body for this monster that you are already getting ready in the bare bones.

I was ambling near Charminar when i saw a similar vehicle but it was in a sad state and the owner seemed not to care for the maintenance. It was riding with lopsided suspension and poor/cheap paint job. It was an utter diappointment to see somthing like that ply on the roads.:deadhorse

You make us all feel proud Bhpians by taking such great care and attention to details. I am simply awed by the power of the engine/Gb and Chassis combination. The tires are simply drool worthy.

One word "Monster" with a vintage cover and a passionate owner.

Good luck with everything!:thumbs up

Regards,
Teja.

Thank you Teja. Every now and then one comes across replies/ posts that makes all the work involved in posting details and updating pictures worthwhile, and your post is right there on top.
You just made my day man!

agree: +100 to this.

Seriously to say, one of my main motives to log into Tbhp is to follow your thread Joyeb.

I like your way of updates on this thread, short, crisp and on need to know basis. Different than others...

I really am amazed by your build and the thrive to have complete tested and proven setup + all the knowledge your have/ gaining ++ the sharing.

agree: Wow, Twinn, you just opened up a new avenue for me in TBHP. I have never been to Madurai. I might just go there antique shopping and sightseeing(i need not mention what i will go sightseeing for).

I always thought Chennai and Coimbatore were the haven for automobile mods and accessories, but Jyobeb, you are on the way to making Madurai proud.

I will be back to read more during my daily Tbhp ritual visit during office hours.:D Just keeping my fingers crossed so they dont block the access like last time.

Adios.
