Where did you get the 14B engine from? I could use a supercharger along with it. What do you think?
Allan sourced the engine for me and is doing the work.

I would anyday prefer a supercharger than a turbo so that atleast i get torque from the start. However, i don't know about the reliability of the same.

But won't the crawl with 35" tyres and 4.55:1 ratio get too fast? I know you can't go lower on the ratio since the thickness of the teeth will get narrower and may break due to the power of the vehicle and the weight of the tyres.

Re: New 4X4 project

I will go with the 4.55 as of now. Depending on the engine and the torque and the power band, I may be forced to change.
Superchargers are available in Chennai and even Toyota 4WD boxes. Do you know if the 14B uses the same gearbox bell housing as the 4Runner or L.Cruiser?

Re: New 4X4 project

As of now only chassis & tyres are ready! Looking at a Hino 4l engine. Since Hino made engines for Toyota can anyone tell me if the W04 or the leyland equivalent (better and newer) W04CTI has a similar bolt pattern to the LC 13BT engines?

As of now, the Leyland w04ct engine and gearbox and TC combo off the Leyland stallion, unless I get a 14BT in good condition.

Nope! Toyota 14B(as on the DCM Toyota) turbo.
The Cummins 4B is available too but I don't know what transmission to use.

Re: New 4X4 project

Ok. But if you are getting one of a DCM Toyota, better make sure its in decent condition, considering those things are really really old now.

From where are you getting a Cummins 4B?? New or used??
