Re: Tata Sumo four-wheel-drive

Hello All,

Hope you all are safe !

I was wondering if someone has the wiring diagram of Tata Sumo 4X4 2003 TCIC and also if there is a possibility of getting a wiring loom OE . Presently my friend ( Mechanic) is kind of dumbfound after ripping the wiring off !

If any leads , highly appreciated .

Except for the 4WD System, it will be same as the Tata Sumo TCIC. You can source the one for the 2WD. Your mechanic should get a good electrician to do this.

Here is an enviable TATA SUMO 4x4 2.0 Turbo. Thank you @Talkingcars for sharing it with us, beautifully restored. Quite a nostalgic story especially being a previous TATA SUMO EX+ user. Set of Off-road steel wheels would have elevated the looks further. Hoping old sumos will get the recognition they deserve.

A photoshopped sumo for reference

Few years later my cousin bought a 1998 model white Tata Sierra 2.0 NA ! Yup that car enjoyed such a premium image that time and it was again a dream come true moment for me. We had incredible memories with that car. Meanwhile dad bought his first vehicle - a used mahindra Jeep 550mdi 2.5 NA that was a surprise for me and my brother and we thoroughly enjoyed it, pretty soon we upgraded to another used Tata Sumo EX+ 2.0 NA which served us well for another 2 years and lot of beautiful memories, later it was traded for a Maruti Suzuki Omni in an incredible deal at almost nil depreciation even after 2 years.Meanwhile cousin traded his Sierra after 2.5 Lakh KM for a Mitsubishi Lancer 1.5 NA petrol.

@Deepak, did you find the wiring diagram ? The Wiring loom may be more difficult to source

Re: Tata Sumo four-wheel-drive

Just saw this 2013 Sumo on OLX Delhi.

I wish I could buy it, but the NGT rules mean that I wont be able to drive it from next year.

Thought of sharing it here, as its pretty difficult to find.

Is it practical and do able ?
I did and after failing to get my TATA SUMO converted into a 4X4, I converted the 1997 SUMO DELUXE into a SUMO VICTA.

However, as luck would have it, I just picked up a SUMO 4X4 and about to start work on it. Here is the pic
