CJ3B-A Dream come true thanks to Fazal

This conversation on Team BHP between Fazal and me started on January 1, 2010 and the rest they say is history....I will let pictures talk for themselves and can only say that I have never ever met anyone like Fazal.

He is truly an inspiration and as this thread goes along, I will share with you stories of how Fazal made my dream come true.

The email that started it all...
Fazal:
One of your posts: "my best jeep project" has been an inspiraton for my initation into this project. They have two jeeps there and are asking for 70 grand for one and 90 grand for the other. What do you think.
I tried to bargain but they are not budging. I did not see any other CJ3B jeeps there so they are in short supply i guess.
Regards,
Navjit

Navjit,
Thank you for you kind words.
The price seems not bad, but there is a lot you will be spending on them for getting it in Deepaks CJ3B's condition.
I too am toying with an idea of going for one CJ3B which is in great condition, though I am a MM540/ 550 fan. Still not made up my mind for one that is available.
Let me have your e-mail id where I can send you pics of the same, though the cost is higher than the ones you have seen, but the condition is very original with a company fitted Hurricane petrol engine in superb condition and a beautiful body line.
Regards,
Fazal

Re: CJ3B-A Dream come true thanks to Fazal

I am all glued to your thread Navjit, everytime I see someone buy a jeep, I so envy them for I long to own one but cannot as of now. I see a neat one there. I've heard someone say "Never ask a lady her age and on the same lines, Never ask a jeeper how much he bought his jeep for". Glued to your thread, where you take us on a journey of procuring this beauty. BTW, Fazal Saab's got an eye for detail and this is evidently visible by what he has shown you.

Re: CJ3B-A Dream come true thanks to Fazal

The jeep was in Hyderabad and identified by Fazal. He called me and said that it looks like in a decent condition with with origniality to restore it to its old glory and that is how the journey began.

This is what the jeep liked like when we picked it up in January 2010.....

A WORD OF CAUTION
had similar experience with Fazal Bhai - Gentleman to the core!
Guess tihs is off topic , turning into "Fazal Ali Fan Club"
why are forum members being cautioned?
Simple reason, dont go by this mans photographs, they are NG quality and the vehicle we make might not live upto the expectations, not sure whether to rate his passion for jeeps or his photographic skills higher, you let us know Fazal

Nikhil, just stole my words.
Thanks for starting the thread Navjit. This one looks very neat and the fact that no engine work was required and it still has original starter and dynamo tells a lot about it's quality.
Hope you have lots of fun with it.
Fazal Saab, am glad that you are in Hyderabad.
Am now aspiring to own one

Dr. Amar,
Thank you for your kind words, they humble me.
My only passions in life...Jeeps, Wildlife, Photography, Eating and Cooking. The process of learning never stops, I am learning by each Jeep, photograph and the dishes I cook.

Sudev,
That would recalibrated reading on the odo meter, which was done again after the restoration.
