![]() I see they have changed the door trim pad as well (now it is press fit type). Can you post some more pics of the interiors and the engine compartment (especially HVAC), exhaust system, combination switch etc. ? Spike | |

| ![]() My 80's amby used to have a aftermarket AC - One gets cool air at different levels like cool, cooler and coolest. Modern cars have HVAC - one gets cool or hot air at different levels like, cool, cooler, coolest, hot, mild-cool, mild hot etc. So Mahindra have taken the legendary AC and added a heater function (please correct me if I'm wrong) to it so that you don't complain when you take it to the himalayas. You want hot air? Here it is;don't ask me more. So what do we call this brilliance on a 7L personal use vehicle? * Sorry no budget. * We give you one more reason to be ridiculed by your wife, the neighbour with the nano, M800 etc. * Be happy that we have the AC as a std fitment! | ![]() Yup! That gets my vote....what is it exactly, now that I have bought in to it? There is room enough inside for a couple of big luggage bags and room outside in the rear for extra fuel, tyres...whatever. It's a design that lends itself to long range Himalayan trekking very nicely. Last edited by bblost : 15th May 2012 at 00:44. Reason: removed embedded pic. |

| ![]() Thanks cpbopanna for the pics. One question though the heater doesn't seem to be on / off position but also has temp control there - can you confirm that it is indeed an on / off position. I will be surprised that it is not an on/ off position as I got the kit installed and got the same panel as this one and I only have a on/off for heater. Also interesting is the new rubber mats - that should also be possible to fit in older Thars. The repositioned exhaust pipe was also given as a free fitment to existing Thar owners to solve the exhaust fumes issue. This does help to drive around with the back flap rolled up. | ![]() Yes Fortuner, indeed I have The day Vinod announced on the forum that bookings for the 'new' Thar had opened, I approached India Garage Bangalore, who as usual were not 'aware' of it. ![]() On my insistence, they spoke to the Mahindra office at Bangalore who confirmed that bookings were open. So I booked mine (a Rocky Beige) on 06-Apr-12, the promised time of delivery being the customary 4 to 6 weeks. When I inquired about the delivery status last Saturday (12-May), I was shocked to know that the delivery would only be in end May. I escalated the issue to the Mahindra office where the concerned gentleman in fact spoke to Vinodh at Mumbai and requested him to do something about it. ![]() Will keep you posted. |
