Unfortunately, I have zero mechanical knowledge, am just happy if things are working the way they should and going through your thread makes it even more obvious! I would love to learn though and yes, rest assured I will definitely be getting in touch and am very much looking forward to that.
Gautam,

I am sure you have also gone through the 'making of the Lynx thread' (link below) which is more helpful in knowing the process of a build, advices, decisions, trial and error, failures etc. until the final product hit the road.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...-should-i.html

Building a Jeep grounds up has to start with an objective of what you want the end result to be. and what would be the application of the machine.
It is a continuous process of learning and it never stops, that's the best part of building one than buying one.

Behram Sir,

I am humbled.

The Lynx was fortunate to be driven by you at Hyderabad and inspected again at Khapoli.

The Willys has come quite good.
But one thing, Can you not do away with the aluminium rear door and retain the original Willys stuff.

Hi Rajeev,

Have already mentioned earlier on one of my earlier posts :

Yes, steering, meters, seats, tailgate etc will all go in Round 2 and will be original.

Best regards,

Behram Sir, will get some pictures of the engine compartment tomorrow. I love the line about spending money in only the right places, no worries there Sir, it's hard earned and with Fazalbhai's advice am sure it only be spent where needed.

Thanks for that.

DJR 21273 = My late father's initials and Army Identity Card number. I know he would have been thrilled with a Jeep.

Gautam,

Your CJ3B has turned out Very neat and smart.
Looking forward to seeing it in person soon.

It is an ultimate tribute to your father and his Identity card number, a reminder of his services in our armed forces. He must be proud.
May his soul rest in peace,
Regards,

Re: Coming back to life - an apt song for a junked 1965 Willys

Thanks Fazalbhai. Today makes 10 months to the day since he passed. I miss him every day and can't imagine how happy he would have been to have a Jeep in the house. My guy got the numbering and lettering wrong, I wanted it done old school stencil - guess I'll just have to do it myself.

Hopefully I can bring the Jeep to you in a few days. Really looking forward to it.

Re: Coming back to life - an apt song for a junked 1965 Willys

Here are some pic of the jeep (and my Amby) from the Deccan Heritage Automobile Assoc. and AP Tourism Vintage Car Display commemorating World Tourism Day earlier today.

Am also adding some pics of some stunning Hyderbadi Jeep examples that were present as well, including our very own Lynx. Fazalbhai, it was such an unexpected pleasure to bump into you there.

Enjoy...

My jeep in the same frame as the Lynx, that's parked next to my Amby

Some more random pics....

The jeep is now topless and I think the best way to be. Of all the cars I have owned, nothing else comes close in terms of the sheer joy of driving
