Dear Sreejeshmp - why do you guys do all this? Just use the original Jeep bumper which used to come riveted to the long members. It is the only one which looks "oh so elegant" and retains the Jeep look! Please for God's sake give it a serious thought! See, it is there on Shafeer's MM which you have only posted the photograph. It looks so 'cool". Finally it is your decision but as the vehicle is a true blue Jeep, it deserves nothing else, least of all the "production monstrosity"! If you decide to do it, ask me, please do not remove the round cross member!

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

Dear Sir,

I agree with the original Jeep bumper thing which looks the best and the most practical one .

I didn't change the Original bumper of my old 550 XD and it never got a hit in Offroad conditions.

But in case of NGCS chassis the front chassis end hight is 4.5" which is higher than the normal jeep OE bumper.

My first plan was to buy a Jeep bumper and do the modifications but It won't look good with modifications and lot of work will be needed.

Next plan was to make one like the original bumper but with 4.75" it will lose all the character of the bumper & it will project from the front of the Jeep which will spoil the overall look of the jeep .

like this (no offense to the owner Its my personal thought)

Then the problem was I want to make it as light as possible but should be study enough to hold the vibrations and should be easy to hammer to make it as it is after a hit. So I add few bends on the design which will give support and a unique look without disturbing the overall look of the NGCS .

If it's not olive green we should not face any problems. But the best bet will be brown. The green shade looks great though.

Re: MM550 XD NGCS - The War Horse

Do you plan to paint the chassis and the under body Sreejesh. I used 3M Rubber paint under the body. It is said to have Acoustic Properties. It does reduce the noise levels inside. It costs 300 per Liter. I used around 2 liters without Diluting.

Abhilash,

Its the same Matador, tempo trax vehicles. Its easily available . The original one that comes with the army 550s has a different type of light holder,It has a 3 bulb arrangement which is not in the local one available in the market. I will post the picture.

I am using that combination glass on the original light frame.

Re: MM550 XD NGCS - The War Horse

The color looks different and good. Looks like you are taking a lot of pains to make the jeep presentable on-road as well!
Have fun jeeping.

Tyre for MM 550 NGCS

last week I got a call from My friend Babal Chandran regarding a tyre and he was kind enough to give the tyre for the Factory price. Yesterday went to Babal's place and took the delivery.
