My good ol' 89'er MM540 with 4 wheeldrive , smokey on my tail!

For my point #74, I guess I need to meet the person whose ride inspired majority of my current build(the mechanicals part) - #Arka . For this I have brought my vehicle to Chennai to iron out some of those issues for which I need an expert review. Gave a call to Arka yesterday and hope to catchup with hims soon. Looking forward to some Palar sand bashing soon.

One of the changes that I did was the following to accommodate the alternator(135 amps) and took cues from #Fazal sir's Lynx and did the whole setup. I was missing during the final part of the installation and the addon pulley used is a jugaad for the same as shown in the picture. This I consider as a point of failure although I have kept backup bearings in case of an emergency. Do we have any 540/other vehicle rotary contraption that's available off the shelf assuring beeter build/life for this req....

Called up Arka today and did a braindump on my ifsy-bitsy queries. Arka as usual was more than helpful and offered to have a look on my vehicle this week. Lucky me...that i have holed up in Chennai without knowing that Arka lives couple of streets across on the other side of the road.

Meanwhile went through Fazal sir's Lynx thread and saw that there I see that its the same. I am sure that I can find a permanent solution to this.

It's been ages since I have posted anything about my good ol' 89'er. I moved back to Dubai in 2014 and since then my jeep was used at my brothers farm. It was at service till 2020, doing all heavy duty stuff typical of a farm requirement.
Like all things that come to an end, so did my 89'er. Sharing some precious moments of my 89'er, smokey on a trail of wonderful off-roading trips.

Thanking all my fellow team-BHPians for the support provided. BAOTR with my 89'er has always been like a meditation for couple of days, and with some good group of friends. Did some R&T offload events too.
