Rally Fighter is an off road SUV custom manufactured by Local Motors, an auto maker based in Arizona, USA. Founded by a former US Marines member John Rogers, it is aimed at making highly customized, high performance cars for enthusiasts. Every Rally Fighter is manufactured with involvement of its owner! Actually, the person who wants a Rally Fighter SUV has to visit Local Motors micro factory and be involved in building and customizing the vehicle. Rally Fighter core design is made available as open source CAD, so theoritically anyone can build a Rally Fighter indiependently. Rally Fighter is build on Tubular steel space frame chassis. It has got 6.2 litres of V8 petrol engine producing 430 HP and 424 lbft of torque. It has also got automatic transmission. Rally Fighter has got its own niche fan following.

Nice man, Do you have any more details of these folks?
I some how am not sure if the body line is that great from the visibility factor?

Nice. This should satisfy those who want a mad desert monster but i prefer the plain skeleton instead of the body. Will look rugged and mean with its minimal exterior.

Its not a 4x4, but a 4x2. USPs include two ride heights, one for the street and one for off road. 18 or something inches of suspension travel. ride height has to be changed manually by shifting the spring mounting points on the chassis. This thing is meant to go fast across desert/ plains with mildly varying undulations only. Not a jeep really. Is definitely cool though.

Wow looks cool, silhouette is last gen Hyundai Tiburon-ish.

This reminds me of the buggy style vehicles Mitsubishi used to run in the Paris Dakar rallies. Awesome street presence for sure.

It is correct that Rally Fighter is not 4x4, but as each Rally Fighter is customized for the buyer, it is possible to specify and fit 4x4 axles. One cool thing about Local Motors is that it runs design competitions from time to time. It is possible to participate in these design competitions even if located outside USA. Also, as its tubular space frame is available as open source, it is possible to fabricate it with right kind of facilities. It has made available full instructions for building a Rally Fighter!

One cool design based on Rally Fighter space frame is XC2V FLYPMode which was organized with DARPA.
