Maybe there is more info if you follow the links under "Buyers Beware!!".....dunno, I am not going to fight my way thru Facebook to find the original complaint. I am anti-social toward the social media.

This little bit has the ring of truth to me, though. Sharath, thanks much for your post here. I was considering the Gurkha. This cooled my ardour.

It seems very odd that Force's Traveller shops will not service or sell Gurkha. At least that has been my experience here in H.P.

My Thar has 94,000km on it. Last week I took it to Grover Mahindra in Pathankot, Punjab. Clutch noises. They expertly put in a whole new clutch. It works great. And I'm on the road again! Mahindra actually came thru for me. Not a small thing after reading this.

This transformation has been well recorded on the forum - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...-makeover.html

Seemed like a ".. and they lived happily ever after" ending. Wonder what went wrong!

Re: Review: The Force Gurkha 4x4

Thanks for the concerns dear friends !

I was told by other Gurkha owners that, Gurkha will eventually make all its owners well trained mechanics and now i understood why it was said so? My whole experience with dealer is explained in the original thread of G wagon Make over, it was horrible!

Re: Review: The Force Gurkha 4x4

Extreme is launched and I hear some of the dealers have started to take the booking @51K. This is going to be an interesting player with short wheel based, not so heavy, with great power to weight and torque to weight ratios etc. etc. One concern remains is the service network and Force's capabilities. Waiting to see some hands on reviews.

Re: Review: The Force Gurkha 4x4

Went through the above link and read the following:

Quote:
With a ground clearance of 205 mm, the Gurkha Xtreme can wade through a depth of 550 mm.
The Fortuner has a wading depth of 700mm and the Endeavour a wading depth of 800mm.

So with a snorkel, the wading depth of 550mm is surprising if not shocking! Are the electronics way too low, the fan not a viscous coupled type, or do they not trust their seals?

This was about a 2014 Gurkha having a 2007 manufactured steering box.
It went bust and the dealer asked the customer to pay for a new box.
More details can be found here: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-v...ml#post4297691 (Force Gurkha: G-Wagen Makeover)

Re: Review: The Force Gurkha 4x4

The last thing I heard, from a dealer here in H.P. on Feb. 11, 2020, is that the new Gurkha for 2020 will be on the same chassis as the 2019s, will have the same 140 BHP Mercedes engine as 2019 but will be BSV-VI compliant. Anybody heard anything much different? Yes, safety equipment, new dashboard and some minor sheetmetal changes...but chassis and engine still the same?

As per my conversations with company officials in Auto Expo 2020, and looking at the product displayed, the new Gurkha will be on 2.6 Cr 90 BHP, BSVI compliant engine. As per them the whole platform is new.

More details on this thread here (Force Motors @ Auto Expo 2020)
