Land Rover Defender production to move to India?

The iconic Land Rover Defender is going to be phased out this year - to be replaced by an all new model. Rumours are, it could continue production in a non-UK JLR factory.

Could we be able to buy a brand new Defender in India next year?

re: Land Rover Defender production to move to India?

Though Tata's, the parent company of JLR are Indian and it will also be a boon for us enthusiasts and the resurging Tata Motors et al if JLR starts production of the Land Rover Defender in India but it is still a distant dream with competition from the following :-

1. China
2. Brazil
3. United States of America

Can never say for sure. Talks of the Defender being built in India have been doing the rounds since Tata took over JLR.

Here's an older thread where Ratan Tata himself said that the next-gen Defender will be built in India : link.

And here's a discussion on its India potential : link.
