I doubt it since the fenders and dash is covered for the test vehicle in the spy pics. Why would they cover the dash if all they have done is added a spot of sliver. But then again, I maybe putting too much faith in Mahindra

Look at the front mud flaps and the side steps. They are same. Covering of dash is mentioned in post, no images so this might be all that is to it :)

I thoroughly agree that a factory-fitted HT addressing all these issues will be the best option :D

Precisely, that's why I mentioned that, if they alter the A and B pillar from the factory, they would also be forced to engineer the solution to the water leak. But the lowered roof Thar looks fantastic. If they can graft the wrangler look rear window also to it, would be a killer.

But then, the dampener will come from the drivetrain, so all this talk of a good looking body is of no use!!

Guys could there be an attempt to add ABS and Airbags to the Thar as i remember some governent directions in this regard to be followed post October??

I know that phones are smart these days, but you need to use your computer once in a while :). If you blow up the picture in a screen bigger than 4.5 inches, you will see the dash is also covered in the camo stickering. Secondly the wheel arches are much wider than the the ones shown on the red Thar. The red one has the standard wheel arches that have been in Thar CRDe since inception.

Another half baked product from Mahindra. Its high time they design a JEEP.
Putting leftovers from Bolero wont help, i saw this testing mule and i started liking older Thar.

Dear Shubhendra - I completely agree with you, but this is India, my friend. The sales will actually increase once this contraption is made available, you just wait and see! In India, people want something new, that something new need not be correct or good! People will buy what is dished out to them.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

I hope they are fixing the bad things first. Like poor brakes, falling parts, canopy rattles, handbrake! etc. Even if they fix these existing issues and bring it, I will be more than happy.

Mahindra?! If you are listening bro, kindly add an instrument cluster from today to the Thar! A good MID, a well illuminated speedometer, etc... Is it too much to ask bro?? The current version is depressing at night.

P.s. I have many other requests but i think this one could be easily met by u guys.

No offence Mcroadster, but your post needs to be in the 'Jokes' thread :)

What a 'novel' concept of making a slanted rear end to mimic jeep look! Probably inspired from similar looking tops in few highly-modified jeeps of PB registration! Forget anything else, if at least a properly functioning hand brake is available, that will be some value addition. Or since it is a 'Jeep thing' probably that can't be expected in a 8.5 L vehicle?

Where is the Rear number plate on the test vehicle

WOW. Dramatic changes lol: . Seriously, there must be training school on "revolutionary, new, improved,....etc." methodology that Toyota India send their guys to, and which Mahindra is now patronizing as well.

I sure do hope there is a different, real, "facelifted" Thar in the works. However, I was speculating that the v2 Thar will come only with the introduction of the BS V norms, but since that is being pushed back under the ostensible logic of moving straight to BS VI, I don't expect it anytime soon.

Pity !

Dramatic changes as far as the Thar dash is concerned.:D Thrangler anyone?
No complaints so far..
The rear looks hideous. Why not go full Wrangler?
I hope the dash becomes available as a separate accessory.

This definately looks better. Better steering, ac controls. And why that embossed THAR logo? And do I see a improved handbrake? Hope it works this time lol:.
