Re: Mahindra Thar : Test Drive & Review

Such a refreshing change!
Hope they can do something about front facing seats and safety features.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Test Drive & Review

Is anybody aware if Mahindra has rectified the Off-Centre Steering Wheel issue, and have they by any chance increased the driver's seat travel.
The steering wheel towards the left is just too much of a compromise IMHO.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Test Drive & Review

Overdrive reports today that the New Thar would have the 2.2l mHawk engine in a different state of tune vs the Scorpio/XUV
Also is mentioned the availability of a Hard Top Model along with the soft top.
Here is the link to the story -

Re: Scoop! Mahindra Thar Facelift spotted testing

What about the pricing? Current one touched almost 8.4, I hope the prices for the new one will not be exhorbitantly hiked.

Re: Scoop! Mahindra Thar Facelift spotted testing

Why would Mahindra want to launch a off roader in Beige Internal trims?
Would the DI Thar also get a similar treatment?

Think M&M are now sure that Thar is majorly bought by urban folks and hence cater to that group more.

Re: Scoop! Mahindra Thar Facelift spotted testing

I also heard that front seats will be from XUV. If it turns out true, expect some good comfort inside the cabin. Also hope a proper Hardtop also makes its way to the showrooms. Launching a Hardtop variant would be an intelligent move.

Birdie also tells me that Mr Anand Mahindra was not happy with the nuts & bolts used, this could translate into better overall fit & finish.

Re: Scoop! Mahindra Thar Facelift spotted testing

I have also booked a Thar with Mahindra dealer Swami Automobile here in Chandigarh last month and expect delivery end of this moth or first week of March 2015..

Now I'm so confused if I get this what I booked or wait until when for the updated one?

Thanks,

If it's true, it's a real pity that it took Anand Mahindra a couple of years to realize the quality of fasteners used in the Thar.

Whilst on the subject, we should not restrict our vision only to 'bolts & nuts', there are many other components which are of questionable quality.

Thar buyers have had to spend (a couple of) thousands to make the vehicle presentable and road-worthy (read: better brakes)!

If he hasn't realized, it's a greater pity!

Exactly what I told the informer too, I mean nuts & bolts is all he could spot! I guess since consumers are lapping up the product & accepting it without being much vocal about it, people at MM wont care much. Also due to fact that there is no competition whatsoever in the market, MM has chosen to sell it as such & make max. profits out of it.

Re: Scoop! Mahindra Thar Facelift spotted testing

so im really excited about these new interiors and upgrades as such.

But also confused by the overdrive article linked which says the Mhawk engine & hardtop will be offered.

Will Mahindra be offering an upgrade in Feb'15 and then an engine upgrade 6 months later? that sounds a bit far fetched to me

wish Mahindra would be more transparent about this, making it easier for consumers to plan their next purchase.

Its sad to see some members on this forum having booked their vehicles recently and missing out on these upgrades.
