Re: FJ Cruiser

@ Crazy driver: yea! sorry that i missed it out

its just the OEM mirrors which i blacked out and the vinyl in that i just painted yellow.

@ Taseem : yeah you are right!! some are meant to be moded and others are not

@ crazyjeeperk: i would love to but the thing is that it adds weight and this part of the area we go at high speeds and more weight = less power :( and that winch is used if you have a winching point and here we dont have a tree or a rock to do so.

More to come - Already ordered TRD Exhaust and Doug Throley Headers .

Re: FJ Cruiser

Came across this old announcement :

FJ CRUISER LAUNCH
Date: August 28, 2007
Topic: News

Dear DUBAI4X4 Members.

We are glad to inform you that DUBAI4X4 will be collaborating in the launch program of the Toyota FJ Cruiser with Al Futtaim Motors (TOYOTA).

Our Crew Member Shahid Ahmad had been appointed as Route Director for this program - a test drive experience in the desert, supported by the entire DUBAI4X4 CREW team and other experienced DUBAI4X4 members.

An air conditioned tent is being set up in the Tawi Nizwa area on the 7th & 8th of September where the trial drive runs would be conducted from.

Al Futtaim Motors have been very generous to extend invitations to all the DUBAI4X4 members as well for this event.

If you are interested to test drive the FJ cruiser in the desert you are welcome to register your name on the Trip Forums and participate in this event.

Entries will be limited to fifty participants only, strictly on a first come first serve basis.

Event Date: Friday Sep 7 and Sat Sep 8

Xclusive Time for DUBAI4X4 Members - 12 PM to 3 PM

Venue - Camp set up close to Tawi Nizwa shops.

Route - a 30 minute sortie along the fence first and then turn left on the ridges and then the dunes with a choice of easy or advanced route available.

You will be driving the FJ cruiser while a DUBAI4X4 CREW Member will guide you with the vehicle's 4WD system features and the route.

Back at the camp refreshments and drinks ( non alcoholic only ) will be served by a team of caterers.

Entries are limited so confirm fast.

Re: FJ Cruiser

Good looking FJC ngnoble. Have you done anything for the rear bumper? Any needs and plans to add lockers? ARB lockers are very popular with the FJ Cruiser owners here in US

I disagree. FJ is a very capable vehicle for a family of 4.

Thanks buddy! by the way rear bumper is not required for the FJC as the departure angle is a lot and adding up weight is not recommended for a desert runner. For lockers it has a rear diff lock which is more than sufficient for desert duty and performs flawlessly.
