ANY vehicle can get stuck in the dunes, and no it doesnt depend on the driver either. The best of drivers get stuck, and getting stuck is also part of the fun.

That is definitely an LR3 from Land Rover that is down in the sand, it is quite a capable vehicle. From the looks of it, this seems to have been the fault of the driver... so far in, has to be due to lots of wheel spin

so how do you pitch the FJ to the LWB (unlimited)wrangler ??

If pitted against the new Wrangler unlimited the FJC has superior P/W ratio and torque.

Remember this is a new 3.7 V6 engine from Wrangler now. The Toyota 1 GRFE engine is far superior.

Even the SWB new Jeep Wrangler JK is not doing so well in the desert as its predecessor the TJ with the original 4 litre I 6 engine.

However the modified JKs are yet to appear on our dunes and then we can do a fair comparison.

Its been more than a year now. The new JK with its V6 engine and mods ( not stock ) has started to climb some of the dunes that the Fj Cruiser and Toyota Prado SWB dare.

Re: FJ Cruiser

Thank you but family size in todays world has shrunk to about 2.1 to 2.2! After that couples go seperate ways. Not for Indians of course, we remain a family size of 4 mostly.

Re: FJ Cruiser

I can add my experience as an owner of a 2007 FJC, mainly in the snow in upstate New York. As a winter machine, this trucklet is awesome, with the ability to go through deep snow without any issues at all. I have the 6 speed manual gearbox, and this version in the States has full time 4WD. My FJC is totally stock.

And, new tyres?

Those tyres are really really adding to the butch look of the car!

Whats the yellow sign on the ORVMs?

Re: FJ Cruiser

You're truck is shaping up nicely. I've always liked the FJ. It's got a mod friendly build. I dont know if that makes sense. but some cars dont take nicely to mods. For example a Range Rover. They look odd when modified.

You must check the following thread for FJ inspiration (If you haven't already ie):

The RAPTOR (Shadow Warrior's Build) - Toyota FJ Cruiser Forum

Re: FJ Cruiser

This is Really a Beast under cover, I really like the way you have turned your machine .

congrats for making it in perfection and one more suggestion would be a winch which will give more majestic look to your machine !
