Probably refers to the recommended payload?

Does that mean that we can shift only to 4L from 2H (there is no 4H) ?

Ah Mein Kamarade, Actually I am writing in Deutsch...but you see you read in Englisch ! And Guderian - he was never a looser though - one of the few who stood up to Hitler and a brilliant tactician ! And yes have you seen the pix of the 1936 Merc the ol' toothbrush mustache had and used to ride open top in - to the Nuremberg rally etc ? Great piece of engineering - am told it's preserved somewhere...
Anyway we can keep discussing these things here till Arka comes up with more ammo and pix on the rebirth of the 1 tonner !

Arka, you probably will have to tell the tinker guys to use higher gauge sheet metal, otherwise they will use the normal sheet metal , which will be thinner.

Arka, these close up pics are good....the vehicle looks to be in pretty good shape.

Could you also post some pics of the engine bay, if possible?

Updates - On 4W73

Hi Guys,

Yesterday, I got the brakes overhauled. (Nitrous has the pictures!!!)
1) The Brakes Shoes and Drums very hardly used.
2) The Master Cylinder & Wheel Cylinders are good (no pitting or rusting)
3)The 4W73 has a single master Cylinder like the old JEEPs -- So no Hard Braking, if on of the wheels lock or slip

Front Axle
1) Picked up Front Axle Flanges.
2) The Front Hub Bearing were rusted and cracked, they have been replaced.

Will be fixing up the alternator and cleaning the Sparks and going for a short spin (2lts Petrol)

Regards,

Arka

PS - We started up the engine on Saturday, the P40 runs fine and what a growl!!!
