Very interesting. Any idea how it came to India?
There must be some history behind it.

Great !! You have a very rare Landy, Maybe only one of its kind in the country! Great pictures of the two LRs you have posted. Is it taken in some kind of rally or show, as they seem to have some numbers ?.

its a rally commemorating everest climbers, its a recent event.!!

no both are owned by different owners! they lend their vehcile for such processions, but i don't. i dunno if they charge or not!!

and yeah its one of a kind, that military version!! i have never seen any other example. amit, a fren who works for car/bike india wanted to do the story on it. but its that we never came to a fixed schedule. when he is free, i am on tour and vice-versa.
I will certainly look for it, that green SII has many years tax pending and a diesel version! i guess you had petrol in mind. and also if you wan't to convert it to private regn. you have to pay heavily to rto in this case.

SirAlec aren't the landrovers a common sight in darjeeling? i do not know about the Special Versions, but when i went to darj, i had seen a lot of LR's being used as taxis.
