Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Ouch!! I meant if i could find some Indian Repos ![]() OR something in India. The brute is a Mahindra after all, no point adorning it with French addons. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() The light like the one on the right fender are available here and also the blackout lamps, dash light (for map reading) etc. You will be lucky if you find the tail lamps, should you, I too would be interested in a pair. The pic. of this early Mahindra-Willys,(JEEP logo above the front grill) is an Indian army disposal with a original (hurricane 2.2 ?) petrol engine, 4X4.. it too does not have vents like your CJ (CJ never came with air vents though) but has these slits (pic. 2) which are for water to drain out if flooded. Can anyone tell me what is this Jeep in pic. is worth, it is in excellent original running condition and well maintained since all these years. Behram Sir, looking forward to your inputs reg. the model and year and anything else. ![]() ![]() Regards, Last edited by fazalaliadil : 5th June 2009 at 19:51. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Hi Adil, could you let me know how much the black out lamps are available for in Hyd on PM please? Re the vents, it was my tin guy's mistake putting them on but later i realised that they would be a boon to air the feet during long hauls in the OTR sun. So i had him put one on either side. ![]() Mine is a 81 ( i think) RCL. Can i get the entire front show with "JEEP" stamped on it somewhere? |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Best place to hunt for these accessories is Mayapuri, Gogi. Or if someone on here has stocked up and is willing to let go. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Carrying on from where we left, I have been following up the Jeep's restoration and gathering up all the parts etc needed for this build. Happy to announce that due to the timely help by fellow Jeepers Gotzuk and Shubhendra, i have managed to locate most of the missing links though they were not coming in the way of making the Jeep road worthy. Thanks a lot guys for all the help in sourcing the elusive parts. Meanwhile the search is still on for a few other nick-knacks. Am posting pics all not very recent but a few days old before the Jeep was getting ready for the paint job. The colour you see is the base coat and does not denote in any way the actual colour i want on the vehicle. You can see the Jeep in various stages of WIP. The body seems to have been finally sorted out and as we read, it is getting its final sanding. It should get its first coat of paint in another two days. Then all the assembling, front and rear seats, the fixing of the roll cage and the soft top. Then I propose to take it to Ferdi's to get all the final nitty gritty sorted out. The underbelly check on the hoist, someone who is a pro at handling Jeeps should be let loose. Pity they didn't have the time a year ago else, this would have gotten over maybe six months ago but all is not lost still. After that it goes in the shop for its final coat and off road worthy, only to get dirty all over again but thats how we want it to be and how it should be, right??!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() my god v16. what a monumental task you are close to getting done. way to go man. looking forward to a look see soon Hey i have been doing a fair bit of research on how to keep my 540 free of rust. All the paint over rust products (like por15) are not available here. POR15 website has listed a company in Hyderabad called anantha coating solutions at ameerpet as dealers. but they have no number. when i called por15 the guy said he didnt have a dealer in india. then i told him about the address on his site. he did a double take put me on hold came back and said why dont you call me after an hour i will ask another collegue he should know but you are better off checking from your side in india so if any fellow jeepers have heard about these guys in Hyderabad or have any experience with POR15, please help else it will be a thick enamel layer for the under body of my 540, then spray on wuerth anti rust coating. Getting these cans at 20% of the cost ![]() There is also a product from Shalimar called car guard which is i think a bituminous paint protection will update on both this thread as well as the one I am running on my 540 rebuild http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...ml#post1434939 Last edited by 53BHP : 16th August 2009 at 23:43. |

Thanks Bro. It was a monumental task but with the help and guidance of fellow jeepers and gurus like UBS, GTO, Arka, Gotzuk, Nitrous and so many others it is finally getting done. Thanks guys. I owe all of you. Wurth is a good underbody or flooring application. you cant put it on the body. I have used it in my Fiat and my W115 underbody and flooring. Shalimar is also wha you put on the flooring and underbody like Wurth. i dont have any dea if they make something like you said. Tomorrow front seats from the Ikon are being put on. WIll update with pictures. | |

Team-BHP Support ![]() ![]() | ![]() @ Gogi : Simple tip. Please use SS (stainless steel) nuts & bolts wherever you can. They don't rust and will go a long way in keeping your body rust-free. My Jeep's full of them. Usually, its the bolts that catch rust first and then spread the cancer to the rest of the Jeep. Last edited by GTO : 17th August 2009 at 16:45. |
