Nope man, the Jeep may be ready but im not in town
The story of my life man!!
Pics taken three days ago, showing the Meters fixed in with the BO light switch. It doesn't seem to be turning on the S1-S2-S3 side even by depressing the centre button sort of a thingy, am having that checked too.
Notice the four holes inline next to the dash, they were supposed to be housing the wiper switch, the in cab light switch, a rear fog light switch and a switch for the front fogs.
Have now changed that and am going to put a plate (like the plate put to house the additional two meters) of a considerably thicker gauge (so that it does not give way during the operation) to house the fogs switches and the hazard switch (total of three) within reach of the driver (between the steering column and the plate housing the 2 meters). There is a vertical mark made on the left of the speedo. Thats where the wiper switch will go and on an equidistant measurement on the other side of the speedo, probably where the first screw of the BO switch is placed (on the top left corner) the switch for the lights will go. The four horrid screws will be replaced by three Philips four head screws, painted with body colour, the ones presently there, are just to hold it in place till then.
The place where the four vertical holes are, will house the underdash/incab light to illuminate the in cab area of the Jeep in darkness and a cigarette lighter (for Ipod/cellphone charger, etc )only.
Think i have covered all the switches. If any other are needed please let me know, it will be easier to plonk at this stage itself.
The three additional "Jewel lights" will go on either side of the Speedo (oil and turn signal) and one in between the two small meters (high beam)
I did not want to clutter the dash as im going in for the original look so don't want anything to look out of place really.
Am also wondering about a speaker set up for audio like GTO's Jeep. Any suggestions are welcome.
Today i have to decide on the seat rexine colour. Maybe a Military green and then get a Khaki canvas cover stitched to cover the seats. Should the Stepney be covered with a canvas cover too? Will get more pics today and post by the evening.
