Nothing like a DIY enthusiast and that too building a hovercraft.

Actually have already built hovercrafts, but I wanna build a big one which can take my entire family

Priorities

1. Get the CNC business running
2. Get a good jeep for home and work
3. Get a good place for cnc business
4. build the 3rd hovercraft - the big one.

and since family and work takes most of the time, hovercraft is like 2 years away and then certainly I will have a thread here - so that many more interested can jump in and we can have a hoverlovers group here!

Hi irfan,
Keep looking.....try getting marshal DX2000 royale 4wd/ even marshal economy with 4wd will do, but will not have radials and a full dashboard. Consider a commander post 97 DP if in good condition.

Happy shopping!:-)

Hi Vinod, thanks for the inputs, actually I am planning to have a custom Dash made for the Marshal, and thats the reason I am looking in for a economy marshall - so that the saving could be spent on a new custom fiberglass dash - and custom wheels - and custom paint job. It will be mostly a DIY job except for the painting and the wheels!

but still if I come across a DX2000 royale 4wd I would consider!

but still what should be my price range and the question sort of stands right there.

These models are abused to the limit. Dont pay more then 2 lakhs for a 2005-06 model. Asking price will be way high, but then if you want to pay that much get a Bolero 4x4.

Looks like 4x4s are in very high demand these last few months.

All the best Ifran in your search. Do post pics once you seal a deal

and yes thanks for the numbers spitfire - I am amazed how people can quote so much!

after all its a hardtop and not many go for it.

Hello Irfanulla,

RedMM340 has an awesome MM550XDP machine. Have a look on the below thread.

Jacs thats exactly what I am looking for - a bit the 5 door version - I sort of have my own reason to want for a 5 door version.
I have decided to be patient and search for a good jeep coming my way.

If you have a good mechanic in pocket, you could think of getting a cheaper one preferably a government auction and restoring to your liking

Irfanulla
suggest you check with people in local hill stations
all these slightly middle aged and elderly Mahindra's Marshal, Commander, MM540, MM550DP etc live in the hilly areas. Try the Gundlupet, Gudalur, Nilgiris Belt as also Coorg, Chikmagalur, Hassan areas and Im sure you'll get one to your liking. Also my feeling is that if you get one between 1.2 - 1.8 lacs depending on the condition- these will be atleast 12 years old and would have hit easily 1.5 lac km on the clock, it is a good deal. These vehicles dont usually get sold unless the owner is upgrading or something of the kind. Especially those vehicles used in these hill stations invariably find their way into the commercial/ taxi market. Check with princezahed he just got a 540 for about 1.6 lacs.
