AFAIK, there is only one gen of Safari. What we have today is a FL of the original with 2 engine changes along the years.

Yup! Fitting an old station wagon body onto a 4X4 chassis. Changing your 2wd Sierra into a 4wd is difficult because you will need to change the chassis. The other aggregates can be bought fairly easily.
This is what my wagon will look like, only 4 door.

@jyobeb - I saw this thread after receiving your PM. So you may ignore my reply/question.

The station wagon looks amazing. Let me see what I can cme up with regarding the Sierra.

I did see the date of the post.. Did not want it to die as it seemed dashed interesting.

Oye! Thar CRDE- you mention? I am scared of mentioning Thar anywhere on the forum as it starts of the discussion on CRDE vs MDi.
