Lovely pics Aamir.

Those wheels aren't from a Ford GPW.
Rather they are from a Vietnam War era Ford M151 Military Utility Tactical Truck (MUTT), which we never got to see in India.

The MUTT was a chassis-less monocoque 4x4 with independent suspension, unlike our Mahindras.

You are right those wheel rims are of M 151.
I have original wheel rims of Gpw with me
When i first started restoring i didnt found out original rims but later got hold of them.
They look nice arent they.

Though we see lot of these antiques in exhibitions and with collectors but rarely see them in action. Aamir Bhai is really previlaged to have hold of those amazing wheels through the real terrain

There's something magical about these old Jeeps. To see them working offroad is a visual treat and delight. Am glad to hear you retained the petrol engine, love the hum of those engines. The locations too are so pretty. How far is Gilgit from where you live?

These jeeps are still competing with all those new SUV's with all extra gadgets like differential lock etc.

A similar statement made in one of the threads got into a lot of controversy thanks to the guys who own modern SUVs will ALL the extra gadgets!

But I tend to agree with you that the jeeps make off road special with the driver doing the stuff.

In modern SUVs a flick of a switch does it all for you! I feel like a dumbo sitting in one and letting the vehicle do the work and I dont learn!

Those are beautifuls pics for an equally beautiful Jeep, infact the others in the backgroung are awesome too. I was really amazed to see you Jeep tackling such terrain as its an old horse but i am glad i have been proved wrong.
Lesson learnt- A Jeep can go where others dont even dare.

Aamir Bhaijaan! I am very new to off-roading so i dont want to sound stupid as i am unaware but why are you standing most of the times while tackling downhill terrain? I guess the view while sitting would be good enough, or is it for knowing the exact whereabouts of the front tyres?

My jaws dropped at that last pic, is the Ford GPW that capable? Talk about sleeper cars, this one is a sleeper Jeep

Dear Aamir,

The last picture is so scary. Did it managed to climb? I appreciate your guts to try that terrain, that to in a Jeep with no roll cage and two ppl behind.
