A Few other M&M Diff-Ratios are 3.92:1 (43-11) & 4.1:1 (41-10)used on the Maxx-Pikup/Marshall 2000/ from 2003-2006?

The 5.88:1 (47-8) Ring & Pinion can be fitted on a JEEP Diff as the FC ( FJ460DP/470DS433) used a wider track Dana 44.

However the Rear FC Diff is 58" and the CJ3B is 48.5" so the Housing cannot be changed.

The real challenge is the Tyre Diameter for this Axle to get sufficient road speed.

(New Diff-Ratio/ Old Diff-Ratio) X OEM Tyre Dia. = New Tyre Dia.
(5.88/4.88) X 29 = 34"

SUPERB work done, please spend a GOOD 5-8K on ANTI-RUST treatment after the paint-job. You may extend the rust set-in time from 3yrs avg to more than 5 yrs. I hope you get a new-wiring harness for the jeep. I remember some 'guru' saying they come cheap @ less than 4K.

Thanks for the advice Santosh, Will get the treatment done surely. Yes, I am getting a new wiring harness for the JEEP including new bulbs, fuses & relays, all these costed me close to 6K. I think body work would cost the maximum, The best part was suspension overhauling though... the entire overhaul costed 5K

Only brake system would be overhauled, I am not touching anything else as most of the things are working fine. Oils would be changed...that would suffice for now.

Let me put the cost breakup for suspension overhauling for others benefit:
All four leaf spring removing, resetting and refitting: 800 - 1000Rs
Additional cost for any materials that needs to be replaced:
Shackle kit: 300Rs each (Max of 4 nos)
Spring pin: 40Rs each (Max of 4 nos)
Leaf: 200 - 350Rs each
Brass bush: 20Rs each (Max of 8 nos)

Hi friends,

Update time...I have picked up the Chilly Green (thats the shade mentioned in the color palette) for my JEEP.

Undercoat has been applied, primer would be applied again over the undercoat and then the paintjob would begin. Here are the pics. I think my JEEP will resemble Star_Aqua's JEEP post paintjob

Congrats!! All the best for the restoration.

Your child hood dream is same like mine. My father (civil engineer) used to Drive the 4X4 Jeep to go the the construction sites. When I was in fifth standard, my uncle (father's younger brother) and I use to take the jeep for a drive, when my father was away.

I have plenty of memories with the Jeep. I recently booked a Safari 4X4, I do not think it will be the same as driving the jeep a real off-roader.

Waiting to see the restored jeep.
