All of this now in only 2WD!! CFLs have greatly helped the articulation as well. Although the CFL are not mine, I am only testing them for a friend who is planning to stock them.

BTW I think there is one mod shop which is also going to start stocking the the Diff Locks as well.

CFL is helpful. It does make the ride much better. Think the prices have come down to about 11K nowadays. Specially when you are on the trails it is a boon not to keep bouncing like a ball!

I have not heard a single negative response to the rear CFLs till date.

Have you tried the front ones as well?

What would be the right way to judge differential lockers working?

Please pardon my ignorance please:

Would like to know whether these lockers can be fitted in MM540 front and rear and also how much they cost, who are these 'trusted' online retailers'?

Andy

Few pics of my Gypsy with Snorkel, Rock Sliders and Extended wheel arches.

Andy
In Bangalore Rajesh (t-bhp nick - Rajeshnarayan) has installed difflocks.
You can probably get a better info directly from him and also check out the difflocks in person

When one rear wheel is up in the air, you should be able to move from standstill. If you do it successfully then you know your diff lockers are working..:)

Spot on.

Andy - check the vidoe in post #164 below. That shows how the vehicle should move only in 2wd when one rear wheel is in the air. The wheel in the air should turn at the same speed as the wheel on the the ground. This happens because the rear diff gets locked.

don't tease us arka ji. :uncontrol
will it support 5.88 or 6.80 gears for mahindras?

OT: is it possible to use 6.80 R&P gears in mm axles?

I have recently bough a Gypsy King with Nissan CD17 diesel motor, matched with the stock gear box. I need to know the followings...

1. Is there anyway that we can change the final ratio??? I want to get better high speed. Can we get different tail and crown ratio options for differential?? Is there any other way (other than changing the tyre size)?? Right now tyre size is 215x75 R 15.

2. I have read about the differential lock that GoSlow fitted in his Gypsy. I well understand the advantages of fitting one in the rear. But is there any disadvantage too?? I assume LockRight 1530 is automatic differential lock, does it not make any 'kat kat' noice when getting engaged and disengaged.
