Punjab Regn. *no wonder*
I like the olympic torch aka ORVM

A '98 Gypsy king should be worth between 1.3 to 1.5 lakhs based on the condition.
Don't show any interest at the price he's quoted.

Hey this is a Gypsy that has been Jimnied.

Looks like has an SWB conversion done to it along with chopped overhang.

It will be much better off road, but make sure the work was executed professionally.

The so called exterior modifications(reduced GC) have ruined the very purpose of the gypsy.

My suggestion would be to stay away from this.

Is it a Gypsy.. looks Crappy.

The thing looks hideous. It looks like a Scorpio wannabe in the second picture.

Yeah, only if it doesn't plough itself into a dune with that front bumper or play see-saw with it's side skirts

No. this is NOT a SWB conversion. That's just an illusion because of the chopped overhang and the mods etc.

In a SWB the rear wheel starts at well before the door ends. In this one the wheel starts long after the door.

I think there is a separate thread for such specimens :-). Belongs there.. would be right on top there.

Am not a gypsy guru but with the extent of body job on this one, like the reduced Body length & the ORVM's (for which he might have pierced two holes on the doors to affix it), the body metal is sure to attract rust soon. If it has not yet rusted (I doubt if it hasn't. You will have to check the rust from from the inside, as the exterior is well painted. Looks like recently painted) then you will have to take utmost care of it to avoid rusting. All this trouble @ 2.85L is not worth INMO.
Take your call.

Off topic:
Ahem Ahem... I would like to introduce certain specs here.

Ludhiana has around 750, the highest density of Mercedes cars in India in terms of per capita ownership.

And noneof the mercs in Ludhiana have been uglified as I have seen around the whole country.

Source:Ludhiana leads as smalltown India crowds Mercedes Map

And this is not too distant history. Maybe an year or two back.

Lets not get T-BHP involved in the same spat that's plaguing the whole country.

Cheers

You could pay around 2.0 for that. But to take it off road, you need to rework on the removal of all extras [read skirts, front and side ones] If you just wannabe offroader, then its your choice!

Also, 48K on the odo seems a little on the lower side, Generally 10 year old vehicles would atleast run 70 odd even if sparsely run!

Also, check whether the 4x4 works.

Gypsy kings are hard to come by nowadays.

I am going to be harsh here. It looks like a pre-pubescent play toy. I think anybody that would mod a Gypsy to look like that would also beat the hell out of it like a mindless teenager. I would not be caught dead riding in a POS like that. I certainly would not buy it. Just my opinion. That and 5 rupees usually gets me a cup of chai.

Spark, it would be easier to pick up any other gypsy & get the basic mods done by Autopsyche. You should look at his latest Gypsy mod....drool drool drool!!! Unless you have your heart set on this one.
