Another Classic Joins the forum!

Hey guys, Am starting this thread on behalf of our fellow BHP-ian,syj, who has purchased a 96 Mahindra Classic recently. The Jeep is a genuine classic with even the wire wheels intact!!

Had a blast today doing some (verrry) basic Off-Roading, Couldn't do much as we were too busy figuring out how to engage the 4Wd properly!!

Both of us are Absoultely Newbies when it comes to off roading, hope to learn more about it with this ride, and of course t-bhp.

Here are some pix, will post more in the course of time!

Let the comments/ ideas/ suggestions/brickbats etc follow!!

@JayD, that is a very nice looking jeep that your friend has got. Can you please post the price of the vehicle if it is not a problem?

@JayD. Few things sound better than someone saying that they gt themselves a 4x4 and want to take it out 'off the road'.

Thats a good looking classic your friend has got. I must admit that this is the first one I am seeing personally in this color.

Do be careful about the wire wheels in some tough rocky terrain during off-roading..

Cheers,

Wow awesome one. SO how much?

This jeep made me remember the first jeep dad had. Was in the same color but not a classic though. This one got stolen from the guy whom we sold it to.

The Chandigarh one, oh well....

How did the deal go? Was it fair? heard there was a total no holds barred bidding on this one.

But then who am I with an age old disease for honesty, but i guess its the in thing now.

How much did he land it for in the end? and are the papers all fine?

PS: I would like to see this being taken offroad. Sometimes somethings arent just worth it.

PPS: Not personal to anyone, but this started off on a community i am a moderator on and i was not very happy with it.

Guys, you can't just engage it anywhere. Please, learn proper usage of this beautiful machine under proper guidance by a local offroading expert. Don't try to figure out yourself.

Whoa! So there was bidding behind this deal. The prices are only going up these days, especially on SWB Jeeps and even MM5xx Jeeps. In the traditional Jeep markets, now it is well known that weekend warriors from the cities are buying up old Jeeps and prices have practically doubled since last year. Soon, we have to start discussing security systems on our Jeeps to keep them safe from theft.

I agree. The prices of all 4x4's are quite absurd these days and it's a seller's market. Good that speculators haven't entered the market as yet or else we could be looking at a 4x4 bubble in the making -- similar to the housing boom

Cheers,
