Here are a few more updates.

We had bought the Bolero crown and pinion as the engine power wasnt getting transferred on to the wheels, but it turned out to be the same as the existing MM540 one. So we went and bought the CL550,see pic below.

The picture of the Mitsubishi Lancer airfilter is attached.

Some pics of the mechanical work is attached.

The first cosmetic work has been done, a army look grill, black in colour has been fitted, a front head lamps outer ring has been bought , but will only fit after the final paint job is done.

Also attached is another handiwork of Kunjettan an Esteem with a toyota diesel engine.

Hi Pramod, I counted the teeth of crown and pinion from the picture and they are 11:47 which gives a ratio of 4.27. Your MM540 should have 8:43 (ratio 5.38) earlier.

So if your earlier crown and pinion were not able to transfer the power to wheel, with the reduction of the ratio, it should be even more decreased. Did you drive the vehicle with the earlier crown and pinion in top gear, How was the feel??

Well the power wasnt getting transferred onto the wheels, with the older C&P, the Jeep was moving at 60kmph in 5th gear. We need more top speed and so decided to go for the high speed CL550's C&P. We are driving it in another hours time and will let you know as to what happened.

Hey guys out there, got a dout for all you guys. The current set up for my MM 540 has a set up of 9 leafs in front and 11 in the back. The ride is very hard with this set up. Is it advisable to alter the number of leafs? My new engine weighs roughly 200 kilos compared to 184 kilo of my previous.

We are almost done with the engine/mechanical work. The chnage of pinnion has worked wonders with the performace. WSe took it today to our workshop near Munnar for the paint job. Hopefully would be done within a week.

Yes, i wud want to definitly be there. I was expecting to be there for the OTR on 13th, but couldnt be. So Jan 23rd yes im going to be there.

We are going on a pvt OTR to test the vehicle and then decide abt 4X4 option.
