What kind of noise is coming from housing? Is it hum or is it some mechanical clanks? Also what is the alignment issue you are talking about, is it the prop shaft alignment?

No its humming, not very loud but still can hear. Suppose to be a very managable issue as per our "man".

The alignment has been sorted out, it was with the tyre itself.

The kind of feeling i have now is unimaginable, words arent enough. I wasnt so elated when i i got the Ikon. My father is turning yellow with envy. He was so discouraging initially saying who uses them nowadays, its shuch a waste of money and all. As the Jeep started getting into shape he started having a peek into the workshop without our notice. And 2 days back when we went to Trissur to get the tyres, he was waiting in his ikon enroute saying he would help us select tyres as we might be cheated by the tyre guys if we go alone. Lol.

In case of your Safari (being a part-time 4WD), it may not have a Center-Differential; In that case, on selecting 4WD mode, it becomes the equivalent of center-diff locked full-time 4WD. (Am I right in saying so?)

What is the great benefit of full-time 4WD? It will only consume more fuel. The only use of a full-time 4WD is the good stability on roads in high speed; then again an open center-diff is not the best either - a limited slip center-diff will be great.

IMO, get a lockable rear-differential installed on your Safari with all the current specs. That will be a good investment.

I need to get seatbelts installed too. Is it good to get it done by anyone or is their any specific guys who does that?

The jeep has indeed turned out really nice. For the seatbelts, have you already fabricated the mounting points on the b pillar?

No i havnt, it was an after thought. Havnt worked out the cvosting too, would decide only after that. But needed some advice as to how to do it, would it be good enough as factory fitted, how much would it cost etc.

And yeah, we are also reworking the re locating the suspension on the rear. Currently its located inside the chasis and now we are moving it to the outside to better the handling. Will post the pictures once we finish that work.

I think it would have been better the mounts got fixed in the B-piller as Vijay mentioned before the paint process. Anyways, I think you will get each of this piece for around 1200/-.

brilliant job, you really should try and source wrangler lights for front and rear at some point! its a beauty, and that engine looks soo much like the TD27 in my nissan frontier pickup. its a great engine, reliable and very efficient at 14kmpl!

I guess you can trust your man, humming is easier and less costlier to sort out. Clanks are a pain

Thanks. Well we planned to fit in a lot of things initially, but when we saw it like this, we just cancelled all those plans. Like fenders, those arnt going in.

Im down with fever !!! So my 540 work has hit a temporary snag, will be up and running in a few days to complete the pending work, especially the interiors and cosmetic work on the outside.

Had this mini OTR with my 540 a few days back on the highranges near kothamangalam, near cochin. It was a test drice undertaken to see how my jeep with the nissan heart is performing and the experience was mindblowing. The jeep was efficient, silent and never showed any signs of lacking power. Tons of it i must say. I hadnt come for the OTR in munnar as i wanted to do this privatly first, judge my vehicle and then take it public. Now i think im ready!!!
