Congrats Harjeev on an excellent buy!

Don't make all the changes at once. Do them one by one so that you can make out the difference with and without.

Doesn't the Army MM550 already have full-floating and LSD in the rear?

Thanks Samurai.

It has full floating axles in the front and LSD at the rear.
So I was just thinking that as it does not cost much I would have it now. And later whenever my budget permits I could have Diff Locks installed.
tell me is there any harm of having LSD's in the front

Here are here are the tech specs of the MM 550 XD

Well, I don't have first hand experience. But I have been told by Mr.Sudhir Kashyap that front LSD is a NO NO on Mahindra Jeeps. That is the fastest way to stress out and break your axles.

The new suspension has not been fitted. I took the latest pics on sunday only
Also the new fenders have not been imported from USA but have been very much been fabricated at my cousins workshop. Infact checkout the 3rd pics onwards, you can see them with primer coating

Infractions: 0/1 (5)

If you want to put LSDs up front you need to have free wheeling hubs. Otherwise the LSDs will engage when you take turns and it's not good for he drive train.

Try looking at this.

HowStuffWorks "How Differentials Work"

Harjeev, please try to make your posts more succinct. As you can see from some of the other members follow up posts, you are losing people in the details .

Also, "full floating" has to do with the axle type. LSD, limited slip differential, has to do with a differential type. An axle type does not exclude a differential type, at least in theory.

I have one more thread now to the regular reads ! Its my long pending wish to get a decent Jeep and modify. You guys are lucky to have many places in the North to search and find decent options. I dont think Southies are that lucky to find a place like Mayapuri or Dabwali or Malout. Please put maximum photos to the thread as that will be the main attraction for all such projects. I am glued. Best of luck to get the best results out of your project !

so you got bitten by the JEEP bug after all and bought a army spec jeep.

chardi kalan vich raho veerji! congrats on becoming a jeeper.

those extensions on fenders on your friend's "rubicon" are made of metal and not original maal!

i have posted two photos and circle the area with black, where you can easily make out that the extensions are made of metal and weld to the fender of the jeep.

Harjeev, keep the paint shade of the olive green and let it look like what it is....army jeep.

if you need any help regarding indian military jeeps, i can email you some photos and you can always take inspiration from that.

cheers:
