Hey S@~+#0$#,

That's a rare jeep indeed and i must say, a very complete jeep.
I just love that tailgate! And i love those pedals!!

I was going through your list of "work to do"
and read that you want to the install a scissor type soft top frame.
Although it does look better than the original fixed frame, the
original top bow set with a nice tarpaulin would be more apt for a rare
jeep like this. And you can run it around with the half top for
the front two seats and it looks cool too!!. Have a look.

Congrats Santosh. If I am not mistaken, this is the one Jammy picked up in Shimoga, I knew about this since the day he got it.

It would be great if you can restore this to the level where it will be competent off road. With the left hand steering wheel just remember that the left side is the right side and the right side is the wrong side. I hope that is clear.

Ah, Finally Santosh's thread is here.

My compliments to him formally on the forum, though i've been through with him during the whole circus of getting the jeep to the workshop. He's done quite a lot after getting it, and has got it to a better shape to start with. This will be one nice running restoration.

Not to worry about my Beetle buddy, that fellow is capable of lot more things.

I was the first to go for a midnight off-roading on his cj3b

that was fun.

My hands are now itching, first it was brat001 insistence to buy a jeep and now after driving Santosh's 4x4, i really want to get into thick of action.

+1. Have lot of patience with your vehicle, once its completely done, he's gonna give you lot of trouble free years of driving.

All the color suggestions so far are terrific, but there's nothing to beat your police blue for sheer presence in India. Watch the traffic give way before you!

The tailgate is my favourite too. Next in my list of favourites are the headlamp covers on the inside of the radiator grille.

Thanks Vaibhav, after your suggestion on the seven piece top, I went through this page on the CJ3B page and found loads of info on the subject.

Yes DD, for me offroad competency is high priority. The CJ3B in its original form is quite a capable off-roader.

LOL..I have gotten use to the LHD now. It was difficult to drive when I had the full canvas top. I temporarily added side mirrors from an auto-rickshaw and I was able manage then. BTW, in my search for Jeeps, I was very particular about LHD + Petrol. I simply love the stares/smiles that I get whilst driving the LHD Jeep.

Is that Olive Green with US military stars? I love the look of the military jeep in OG. However, only because I intend to restore this as a civilian 3B, I will stay away from military colors and fittings. BUT, someday, definitely in this lifetime, I will buy a WW-II Ford GPW/Willys MB and do it up in OG, fittings et all.

Wow, thats a lovely JEEP santosh, congrats on such a rare find. A stock LHD Willys Petrol with the F134 Hurricane engine is awesome.

Did you check the 4x4 by any chance ?? I would be surprised if the 4x4 is working properly. Most of the people remove the propeller shaft to get better milage.

Do update us as and when restoration progresses. I would love to see this beauty getting a new life.

Wow - now that's what I call a real Jeep. It reminds me of MRG7962 which was a 1971 model CJ3BLHD4WD with the F4134 hurricane engine. I used to use it when I was a trainee in 1980. Please restore it to pristine condition.

This Jeep has a LPG Aftermarket Conversion' fit on it... Now thats a first any one would have seen

Great Jeep none the less.

PS - Are you planning to keep the LPG Kit??
