Indiacar.com - Mahindra Legend
You misread it. From the article "but the Legend would be a far more potent machine with
a set of on/off-road tyres and lockable differentials."

They made 60 and sold all of them,..yes you are right !!
But is that enough for a assembly line to be feasable.

Actually they assembled it from the good/bad bits and pieces from different models. No separate R&D went into it.

You can build a Legend too.

M&M is very good at fooling people with vehicles like "Legend"!

lets see how many more become fool by getting "invited" to buy Thar by M&M!

I see issues where people who want more value for money and bang for buck would not be able to afford this.

The Legend was not value for money at all.

It is feasible as they sold it for about 7L. They must be selling the MM550 XDP to the Army for around 4L. Adding alloys and some lights they sold it for a good margin on "invitation".

I agree that MM should just sell the MM550XDP with some sensible 4x4 options at a VFM price.

Depends on whose perspective you are looking at. It was definitely value for money for Mahindra.

I also think that Mahindra was able to sell it as a collectors car because the MM540 has been discontinued. If one could still order a stock MM550 XDB from the dealer, I doubht many people would pay 2 lakhs more for alloys/winch and fog lights.

OTHERWISE, have a look at this. this was an export product of M&M for Australia. for this you will need a 4X4 CL340/CJ340/Classic/Cj3B.

Plenty of these classic come up on ebay.co.uk for a couple hundred pounds. Shame it would cost so much to ship one to india and get it past customs. Is there any chance of getting one in as scrap ? There is one no ebay right now (# 260341468659), current bid is £127. Mahindra Register is a UK forum devoted to Mahindra Jeeps.

cl340/classic/cj3b have faded into past....its time for 540/550 to be bought and modded as per individual taste and needs.

What makes you think the CL340/Classic/CJ3b have faded into the past?
